Jennieʼs POV.
"Lisa?" I called more than six times. She's been in a daze for God knows why these few days. I would catch her looking at me with this weird expression that I couldn't figure out. "You're being weird again," I told her.
She straightened her back and started fixing her clothes. "I'm not."
"Stop lying."
She sighs, "I just don't know what to do. I'm in big trouble." She said, palming her face. Her face suddenly dropped, and she quickly sat up.
"I need to go, Jennie. I'll text you..."
She looks so paranoid every time. I don't know what else to do with her. I've offered my help multiple times, but she refuses.
I mentally shrugged about it. You can't force someone who doesn't want to open up. Just like me.
Walking through the empty hallway was quiet. It was my first time falling in love with a girl, and I was even heartbroken when I met her.
Did I say that I was in love?
I finally felt the butterflies in my stomach going crazy. I must be out of my mind.
It's weird because I thought I wouldn't love or trust another person, but I did with her.
At first, I thought it was because of the one-night stand. But in reality, it's the awkwardness.
She's very awkward and shy, and I like that about her. The way you would see that she cares for me and not others is a huge plus — I found myself giggling all along the hallway, and that's when I just found out that this is the love I am supposed to feel.
I stopped walking, trying to think of ways to express myself to her, that I love her, I love Lisa —
Lisaʼs POV.
Mr. Kim was there earlier at the cafeteria. I didn't know what to do but panic. I ran outside and went back home as quickly as I could.
I won't be contacting Jennie for a while.
Maybe V was correct. I rushed to get my phone and contact my boss.
After that day, my boss told me to come to her office and talk about it more. I'm not going to lie — I'm very nervous.
Standing here right now is her big office. I couldn't find the courage to open the door. I closed my eyes and tried to focus on my breathing.
Jennie was the first thought that came out of my head. I finally found the courage to open the door and sit.
I promise to tell Jennie everything after this. I inhaled, "Boss, please consider my retirement."
"I'm afraid I can't do that, Lisa." She smiled softly.
My whole plan shattered, "Why not? I need to be, and I want to!" My voice becomes panicky, and I don't know what else to do now.
"Why are you so eager to resign?" I couldn't find any words to tell her. I'm embarrassed of myself. "Fell in love? Want to make things right?" She guessed.
I nodded slowly. "Yes."
She sighs, "You're like a daughter to me. I took you in when you had nothing." She sighs again, reaching for something behind her desk. "I cannot let you resign unless I see you doing well with yourself. I can't see you fail in your life for some girl. I also promised someone that you will be successful." She puts a piece of paper in front of me.
I blinked a few times, "what is this?"
"Rip it or burn it." She said in a bored manner.
"Huh?"
"That's the policy of this company, rip it, fuck it, do whatever you want with it. I no longer want to hold anyone back from falling in love." She pats my head. "That girl better be worth it. I have fired so many people because of it, so she better be." She chuckles.
"What if she hates me for lying?" Tears started streaming down my face.
She hugs me and wipes my tears, "There, there, my little Lalis. She will accept you no matter what occupation you have."
"Okay, thank you..." I cried harder.
"You were so little back then. Now you're all grown up and trying to mate a lady." She and I both chuckled. "Go get your Jennie Kim." She shooed me.
I'm not even going to question it.
Three days had passed, and I was standing here in front of my vast window, trying to rehearse what I was going to tell Jennie.
It needs to be perfect, and I need to be perfect too, oh god. I need to talk to her dad as well...
Well, shit.
