Jennieʼs POV."Shit." I cursed. The glass that was supposed to be resting on my side fell on the floor. "What kind of luck do I have?" I questioned while picking up pieces of glass scattered around the floor and accidentally cut my finger.
What is happening today? Jisooʼs "friends" picked her up at midnight, and they all seemed to be in a panic. I asked why, but they never told me any reason.
Probably one of their gigs.
They are part of the mafia.
I heave a sigh before reaching the sink. I open the tap and proceed to wash my opened wound. The water flow was cold, yet it stung me.
Blood starts to decrease in my cut. I wrapped a band-aid on it and got ready for school.
It is the same as the other days. Boring, like my love life.
Well, it wasn't. Lisa gave me the thrill and drama, just like in the movies. However, it started beautifully, but our movie ended quickly. I never got to see the ending of it.
Because you ran away. My mind insulted me in many different ways —
Was I overreacting? I never asked her why, and I never considered her feelings. It's partly my fault why we broke up.
I was stubborn to listen to her explain. We won't see each other again. She moved out and got expelled from school.
I still haven't texted my dad because I'm still bitter with him for lying to me. He's also the reason why Lisa and I met and broke up.
If he wasn't in the way of everything, it could've ended well for us.
I got caught up in getting mad about the lies that I never examined the situation.
Everyone did something wrong. And for once, I can't hide that.
I sigh as I sit through this bullshit class.
-
I deeply regret it. I do. There's not a minute that I won't look for Lisa. Why was I so stubborn? I thought I was right, like always. However, this time, I knew I was wrong.
But she's a mafia, didn't you want a perfect man in the business industry for you? Yes, but my standards ended the best relationship I could've had.
She's a criminal. A killer and a monster, we never wanted that. She's not any of those. It's a job that nobody wished for. So what if her hands and money are dirty? She treats me better than my exes ever did.
"Dumb fuck." Rosé hits my head.
"Jesus starved skinny ass with a big appetite tall dumb bitch puffed cheeks flat butt no titty chipmunk looking ass bitch." I stopped before taking a breath.
"You said so many insults. I'll choke your skinny neck." Her face twitches before taking a seat. "The hell were you thinking anyway?"
I sigh. "It's Lisa."
She gasped. "Did she rape you last night?"
"Bitch no! She wouldn't do that."
"You never know because she had already lied to you. You're only twenty-three. She's twenty-six. But you wouldn't care because you have daddy issues."
"Shut up. It's only a year's gap."
She starts patting my shoulder. "That my friend is daddy issues, trust me."
I looked at her with a horrid expression. "Can you not? I'm upset, and you're not helping."
She shakes her head. She says it's her way to release all the demons away within her. "What happened?" Her face now is in a poker face.
"It's my fault." She rests her hands on top of mine. "I was caught up with Lisa lying about everything about her. I only realized when it had already been too late." — She closes her eyes and nods slowly to show sympathy. I smack her head, making her eyes open wide. "Can you take this one seriously?"
She slowly rubs her head. "But she lied to you. Isn't that a big red flag already?" Her brows arch.
"Her job told her to do so, I think." I'm not sure, but she did come clean and told me some part of what she did and does for a living.
"You think?" I nod. "Make up your mind, Jennie. You say you hate her, but now you miss her? I think you're just gaslighting yourself at this point."
"No, I truthfully miss her. I regret not letting her explain."
She stood up and jumped, putting her fist in the air. "Your cousin!"
What? "Huh? I mean, I know you like her, but to act like this, damn calm."
"No, you stupid bitch. Your cousin is the answer for you and Lisa to be able to talk to each other! Fuck, I'm so smart." She suddenly slaps her knee, loudly echoing around the cafeteria.
She's so odd but intelligent. I was sulking at the wasted times Lisa and I shared. I didn't get to think of a plan for how we both could talk.
Jisoo is my key, and I need to talk to her later tonight.
