BROKEN SOUL!

I am ready.

It was like all the air has been pumped off her lungs .

She ran towards her and slumped on the floor crying her eyes out . How? when did it happen ?.. everything was going good she was happy her Nani was happy . Why ? Why did this happen to her All the time . But for how long has Nani been sick? Is that why she wanted me to get married?

Was I so blind to see my dying nani's condition. I failed myself as her granddaughter. I am the worst granddaughter . And she cried more.

First mom-dad and now Nani . Why ? God why? Why me ? Just when I thought everything is fine ..why do you have to take my Nani away from me ? Haven't I tolerated enough.. ?

I think Mama- Mami are right ..may be I am a bad omen to myself to everyone.

And she cried herself to sleep.

NEXT MORNING

Ruhi got up by 7 am . Her head paining as she cried so much last night . The first thing she thought after getting up was her Nani .

Nani has so less time I have to stay strong for Nani . I won't show  my weak side to anyone .

She was ready by 8 am  and was leaving early to meet Dr Bhardwaj .

"Ruhi , where are you going ? It's only 8 you leave by 9:30 for office .." Nani asked .

"Y..yes Nani I have some extra work to do today."

Ruhi was going to meet Dr. Bhardawaj regarding her nani's condition.

Ruhi said looking down . She couldn't face her Nani looking into her eyes .

"Okay,beta God bless you . Have a good day " Nani said .

I will miss you Nani . Why do you have to leave me ? She knew there will be no one to bless her and wish her good day everyday. She will miss her each activity.

She couldn't control her emotions and hugged her Nani

Ruhi hugged her Nani " I will miss you Nani ." Ruhi said sobbing

Nani was shocked by her strange behavior.

"Ruhi you will come by evening right ..I will be here only"

"Ye.ss Nani " she said and left.

God please give strength to my Ruhi after me. Nani prayed.

CITY HOSPITAL

"Namastey aunty ." Ruhi greeted .

Dr Anshula Bhardawaj was their personal family doctor and a very good friend of Ruhi's Nani

"Namastey Ruhi beta, how are you? " Dr said

"Aunty ji .. I don't want Nani to know that I visited you " Ruhi took a deep breath and asked " what has happened to Nani , doctor?"

Dr Bhardawaj was confused whether to tell Ruhi about her Nani or no. But Ruhi had all the rights to know about her Nani . Plus now Nani also had very little time left with her . So she said

"Ruhi I know this is going to be difficult for you , but beta Pushplata ji is suffering from lung cancer.. a .and she is at her last stage.." Dr Bhardawaj said with a deep sigh .

Ruhi covered her mouth with shock . Her eyes full of unshed tears .

"C..cancer"

"Yes ..and she came to know this last month . She didn't want you to know about her condition because you were at the peak point of your career . She didn't want you to lose your focus. After she came to know about her cancer she was not worried for herself but you . "

Ruhi sat still .  Had her Nani handling everything alone!?

she didn't speak anymore . She didn't knew what to say.

"Right now she is worried for your marriage. She wanted to see you at a happy place and in safe hands before her death. She shared everything with me" Dr added .

Ruhi nodded. She was in her own trance of thoughts . How much she wished this news to be untrue. But nothing could be changed now.

"I know this is difficult for you Ruhi , but you have to be strong beta for yourself , for your Nani"

Ruhi tried to hold back the lump forming in her throat and asked..

"H..how much time did she have? "

"Few months or more . It can't be said Ruhi ."

Ruhi's eyes were full of tears now .

"O...okay doctor. Thank you .." And Ruhi left the clinic .

She made her way back to the office . In the office also she couldn't focus on her work.  All she thought was about nani.

I love you Nani . And I will do everything you want me to do .

She avoided any interaction with Vikrant .

At evening she came back home . She didn't feel like eating . This whole day she was in her own thoughts .

At night she went to her nani's room to give her the medicines as usual .

She sat beside her, held her hands, took a deep breath and said .

"Iam ready for this marriage , Nani"
