Missing each other

Ruhi was getting better day by day . But she was still weak . Her sickness has surely bought  both Vikrant and Ruhi close to each other. Vikrant monitored her constantly with her needs . And Ruhi also searched him if she needed anything.They became so attached to each other in the past few days .

After few days Anita aunty came . And Vikrant also had some important meeting in the office so he went to work. He checked on Ruhi before going . It looked like she just now woke up , rubbing her eyes .

"Good morning" Vikrant said . He was dressed up in his formals his hair neatly combed .

"Where are you going ?" She asked

"Today I have an important meeting . So I have to go . But Anita aunty is at home . I have told her to check on you and give you proper meals " he said checking her temperature . It was his habit to keep checking her temperature .

"It's still 100 " he said examining the thermometer.

"Call me if you feel uneasy. All right?" She nodded . "And complete your meals . I will call Anita aunty to ask her if you ate properly or not "

"I am not a kid . " She said scrunching her eyebrows.

"Yes. But you behave like one sometimes"

"No , I don't"

"Okay ..okay I know that . " " Now I am leaving . Take care of yourself. "

"Okay" she said .

Vikrant kept thinking of her the whole time . He attended the meeting but his mind was on Ruhi . Is she okay . He even called Anita Aunty to check on her but she was alright.

Still he wanted to go to her . He liked being with her . Taking care of her . He liked her company . They didn't spoke much. But still it was peaceful. It felt good . During break he couldn't resist and called her .

On the other hand , Ruhi felt uneasy without Vikrant . These two days have been so good with him . And suddenly when he left . She felt incomplete . She was thinking about him when he called. Vikrant Calling . Her face brightened up when she picked up the call

V :"Hello"  he said

R :"Hello" came her soft voice

V :"How are you?"

R :"I am okay."

V :"And how is your fever?"

R:"It's normal"

V:"Hmm"

R:"When will you come? How was the meeting " she asked

V:"I will come as soon as possible . And the meeting was good "

R:"Okay. Good "

V:"Okay . See you in the evening"

R:"Bye"

V:"Bye"

He came back home in the evening . Ruhi was watering the plants . She came back and saw him go to his room . She prepared his coffee.

"Today Vikrant called me thrice to check on you" Anita Aunty said teasing her .

Ruhi smiled.

"I know he is treating me as a kid" she smiled and said

"Not as a kid . He is treating you as a caring  husband would taking care of his wife  . I looked at his face , he was so worried for you . You are a lucky women. Vikrant is a great husband to you . God bless you both " Ruhi blushed hearing to Anita aunty .

"I will give him the coffee" she took the coffee and ran out of kitchen, blushing.

They had their dinner . And After dinner Vikrant was busy in some work . Ruhi also took her laptop and started working.

"What are you doing? " He asked raising his eyebrows.

"Working " she replied typing something. This irritated him . He went back to her and took her laptop .

"Didn't I tell you not to work till a week .? Huh.?.." he kept her laptop on the table . She huffed

"But I don't want to sleep. That's all I have been doing since two days . I am getting bored . And you are not letting me cook also "

"You don't have to strain yourself miss -i- can-walk -in- the - rain ". He finger quoted  . "And You are still weak . I am telling this for your own good . Lay down . Sleep will automatically come ." She huffed at his voice and turned to the other side .

He chuckled at her childish antics .

Soon she slept snoring softly. Vikrant pulled back the comforter to cover her property. "Good night Ruhi "

Next day Ruhi woke up before Vikrant. She saw him sleeping on the couch his body too big for the couch. He must be so tired since two days.  He didn't even have proper rest and food.

She went to kitchen and prepared some Poha and coffee for him along with some eggs and toast. She took the Trey of food and went to her room keeping the Tray on the table .

She went to take bath when she came back she saw Vikrant was already up , searching for her .

"Good morning .."she said drying her hairs with towel.

She looked fresh . Her face looked bright and clear . She was not looking pale and weak as before . She wore a simple lemon colour kurta and salwar. Her hair was tied in a braid . A small red bindi gracing her forehead. Vikrant kept looking at her .

"I made you breakfast" she told him looking down .

"You woke up early . How are you feeling . Let me check your temperature " he stood up to take the thermometer.

"I am completely fine . Right now you look tired . Have some breakfast "

At last Vikrant looked at the Tray . She made the breakfast . It had Poha , eggs toast and a cup of coffee .

"You made this?" He asked . He was quite impressed.

"Yes. I know you haven't eaten properly since two days because of me . That's why I made all these ". She said . A part of her was scared that he won't accept her breakfast.

"Okay . Thank you so much for this " he said smiling.  He took a spoon of Poha and a sip of coffee. It tasted so heavenly. It was the best . He hadn't had such delicious meal since so many days .

"It is so good. Thank you so much " he said gobbling down the food . She smiled looking at him eat . She was happy that he didn't turned down her breakfast.

"I am happy you liked it " she said smiling at him .

"Why aren't you eating? " He asked .

"I will eat after you eat . So finish up " she said repeating back his dialogue . Which he said to her the day she fell sick. He laughed .

They both were enjoying each others company . Ruhi was happy that he doesn't hate her . And Vikrant regretted behaving badly with her in the starting of their relationship. He still doesn't consider her his wife but he always wanted to see her happy and healthy.

Both of them started to feel at ease with each other . Is that just a normal companionship or was it something else ..
