BROKEN SOUL!

Responsibility

At evening Ruhi came down from her room , wrapping a shawl around her . She was feeling a bit better than morning. And she didn't want to rest anymore .She  saw Vikrant talking with someone on phone regarding work .

He looked at Ruhi coming down the stairs, and thought what was she doing here at this time . She should rest right .

"Hey, what are you doing here ? How is your fever " he asked touching her forehead .

"I am fine . Vikrant ...sir.."

Her fever was bit normal . But she still had cold and sore throat.

"Do you need something? " Vikrant asked .

"Umm...no .. actually I want to. .. I mean can I go out for a walk . I don't want to be in the room , anymore ." she told

"But you are not well ..Ruhi . Plus it's cold outside."

"I won't take long . I will be back soon . And I have my shawl with me. I won't feel cold . Please ..staying in the room makes me feel sick "

"Okay, come I will take you " Vikrant offered .

"No..sir, you carry on with your work . I can go by myself" she told . She didn't want him to again trouble himself because of her . This whole day he had been taking care of her.

"So you don't want me to accompany you.." he told her slowly. .. "okay .."

"No sir ...You can come if you are free. . I ..I don't mind "

"Okay , let's go .." he told her smiling.

They went out in the garden for a walk. Cold breeze were blowing . It felt good . Both Ruhi and Vikrant were walking quietly no words were exchanged between them. Vikrant kept stealing glances at her to check whether she is okay or not.  And Ruhi was thinking to thank him for taking care of her .

Finally Ruhi spoke .

"Thank you " she spoke softly. He looked at her .. "for ?" He asked .

"For taking care of me . Usually I don't get sick no matter what .. but I don't know ..I .."

"You were ignoring your meals .. for more than a week and you got yourself drenched in the rain ." Vikrant told looking at her .

"Next time you are not going to office by bus . I will appoint a driver for you . You will go and come back with him . Also you are not coming to office for a week . Take rest "

Ruhi got startled hearing this .

"No .. no for a week . No please . I have lots of work to do . The whole ledger account has to be prepared and it's the month end . A week will be too much sir . I will be fine by tomorrow . I can come..I " Ruhi kept on ranting in her hoarse voice

"Are you for real Ruhi .. you are not well ..don't you get that ..? Take rest . You are not coming and that's final . There are many people to manage the work . Okay . Relax " he said trying to calm her down .

She nodded . She got silent again .

"If you want we can go to meet your Nani tomorrow" Vikrant suggested looking at her .

" Yeah ..I want to meet her " she told excitedly , forgetting that she was talking to Vikrant . He chuckled looking at her .

"I am sorry . I got carried away.  " She told embarrassed.

"Do you miss her ..? Your Nani ? You were crying in your sleep taking her name" He asked .

"Yes .. that was a bad dream . Very bad dream ." she told without looking at him . She don't want to talk about it to him .
