Choyeon POV
"I don't know why you haven't bothered bringing it up to him yet, Cho. I'm sure he'd be fine with letting Tae take over if you didn't want it." Jin says with a frown, shaking his head. I just groan in response, covering my face with my hands.
"Jinnie, it's not like the two of you haven't had this conversation before, darling." Jimin says with an eye roll from their bed that's off on the side of the room, not too far from where we are as he lays on the bed flipping through a magazine.
Before anyone has a chance to say anything further though, the door to the room opens. Both Jin and I spin in our seats on their couch, only to find father walking in with a red haired boy following behind.
"You know, you have your own suite here, Choyeon. I don't understand why you're constantly here instead." Father says calmly, though I can see right through it. He's agitated because I'm generally here whenever he comes to check up on me rather than my own room unless I'm working.
"My apologies, father. You seem to tend to catch me whenever I'm checking in on Jin." I respond politely with a small bow as I stand, acknowledging the fact that he's clearly here for me. Though, my eyes quickly navigate towards the boy beside him who looks terribly out of place with an unfitted suit and bright red hair.
"What are your thoughts?" Father asks, head motioning towards the boy beside him. Pursing my lips with a bored expression, I slowly make my way to them.
"Has more style than most of the new recruits we see, I'm guessing that's what you are, yes?" I question as I walk up to him. The boy nods his head.
"Definitely would need upgraded but that's an easy fix and has a good start. Decently built from what the suit provides, important with this group. Hair color is odd though. What's the reasoning behind this?" I ask next, my eyes scanning the male that's stood before me.
"Was tired of the constant black and brunettes and blondes. Wanted something that wasn't so constant." He answers smoothly, his voice a little on the quiet side.
"Interesting. What's your name?" I ask, eyes finally meeting his brown ones.
"I go by Jhope, Ms. Kim." He responds with the same smoothness and quietness.
"Hmm. Different. I can tell you he's not our dumbest recruit. What area did you work?" I question next.
"Selling of drugs." He answers shortly. I nod my head before looking to my father and shrugging.
"And age?" I finish off, feeling Jin and Jimin's eyes on me the entire time.
"Twenty one, Ms. Kim." Jhope answers with the tiniest of smiles.
"Shouldn't manage too terribly. Why's he here?" I ask my father as I take a step back to have a better view of both of them.
"I'm glad you think that. He'll be working with you from now on. Your new partner. It was brought to my attention that Taehyung has his own partner to help him with business affairs, however you work alongside Chang just as I do. I've solved that issue now, so you'll be needing to teach him the reins of everything and you'll be in charge of training him." Father informs me with a smile.
However, while he seems to just be happy as can be about this fact, my reaction couldn't be farther from it. Though, as much as I'd love to just tell my father off and tell him that this is the last thing I want, I know better than to do that and instead hold my tongue.
"Yes, Father." I answer tightly, the tightness of my voice the only sign of my unhappiness towards this. However, he gives me a glare because of exactly that.
"Don't even think of being unappreciative of this, Choyeon. You show enough lack of appreciation towards your own room here as it is. Keep in mind that you'll be booked up tomorrow with meetings. Jhope will be accompanying you to meetings from now on instead of Chang, as well. Don't be late to a single meeting and make sure to handle everything properly. Do not make me come back here tomorrow to have to teach you further. You're old enough now as it is to have learned how to behave and handle matters. Do not disappoint me or disgrace us." Father snaps before exiting the room altogether.
As the door slams shut behind him, I hear Jin stand from the couch.
"Hehe... Well would you look at that... I think I hear my phone ringing, I better head upstairs to get that before I miss it..." Jin says nervously as I hear him slowly make his way towards their stairs.
Before he can reach them though, I spin on my heel and pull the knife from my wrist holder and fling it over at him. With perfect aim as always, it plants itself into the wall just mere centimeters in front of my brothers face.
"Aww, damn it, Cho! I thought we agreed you'd stop sending knives into the wall?" He immediately begins whining, far too used to this by now as he looks over at me. Though, I'm busy glaring daggers at him as I stalk across the floor towards him and my knife.
"You fucking asshole! What the fuck is wrong with you?! You weren't supposed to fucking say anything to him!" I snarl as I rip the knife out of the wall. He gives me a sympathetic look in response.
"Don't give me that fucking look, Jin. I don't fucking want it." I snap as I spin on my heel before heading for the door.
"Stay here and eat. Jin will be preparing dinner soon anyways. I'm assuming you've not eaten yet today since I know they don't serve recruits breakfast and the food they have to begin with is shit. He'll take you to your room afterwards. Be at my room by nine thirty." I instruct as I pause next to Jhope before continuing on towards the door.
"You're not staying for dinner?" Jimin asks, his frown evident in his voice.
"Yah! Choyeon, I thought we agreed just the other day that you needed to start eating dinner?" Jin yells at me, his displeasure also very clear.
"I've got work to do. You heard father anyways. I spend too much fucking time here." I snap angrily before exiting through the door and letting it fall shut behind me.
