"Jungkookie. It's been quite some time. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed to find you're working against me as well as my own brother." Cho speaks up, Namjoon's eyes widening as he snaps his head up towards her from the phone. We all hear a quiet thud from the other line before shuffling sounds are heard.
"Wait... What? W-who is this?" Jungkook's voice wavers, light ragged breaths heard from the other end. I keep my eyes on the girl leaned against me, feeling her lace our fingers together in most likely an attempt to stay grounded and cool.
"Aww, Jungkookie, I'm hurt. You don't remember me? I mean, I know it's been a long time since you guys moved away, but have you really forgotten me after all these years?" Choyeon asks, voice faking innocence. Her grip on my hand tightens a bit, clearly trying to hold it together on top of neither of us being really up to being outside.
"Holy shit... Cho?" Jungkook's voice holds all of the surprise he's feeling right in it, clearly not having expected this turn of events.
"Wait, what the hell?" Namjoon exclaims, a deep frown on his face as he glares at his sister.
"Jungkook, you've known the- but-... what the fuck?" Namjoon fumbles with words.
"I've known the what, hyung?" Jungkook questions lightly.
"She's the third child." Namjoon whispers softly, eyes locking onto the wall across from him. Once again, we hear the phone most likely getting dropped as a loud thud echos through the speaker. It's silent for a good minute before we finally hear him pick the device back up.
"Oh, but, Namjoon, do they know that technically, you're the fourth? If we're counting out of order here of course." Choyeon questions, raising an eyebrow at him.
"What the hell..." Jungkook mumbles quietly. It's hard to tell if he's scared or sad, or maybe worried and fearful. Though, whatever it may be, I probably wouldn't be able to blame him.
"Jungkook, I can explain." Namjoon speaks up, voice worried as a concerned expression dawns his face.
"I've gotta go, hyung. Just... get back to the station I guess. Yoongi hyung is looking for you." With that, the call ends. Namjoon throws his phone angrily at the wall opposite him, all three of us watching as it shatters against the brick.
"Well that was rather counter productive, don't you think? You'll be needing a phone in order to keep in contact with Jhope here. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got to be getting back home." Cho says casually before pulling away from me and beginning to walk out of the alleyway. I simply follow, just a half step behind her the entire way as we go back to the car. This time, no footsteps are heard, not a sound at all coming from behind us.
When we reach the car, I open the door for her, letting her climb in first before I follow suit and close the door behind us. The driver pulls away once it's closed, not bothering to wait for anything else. Choyeon heaves a heavy sigh, lips trembling softly as she leans her head on my shoulder. I hush her softly, wrapping an arm around her and rubbing her upper arm gently.
"It'll be okay, Cho. I know it's hard, but it'll be okay. I'm right here. You've still got Jin, Jimin, and I. We're not going anywhere." I whisper softly in her ear before pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. She whimpers softly, nodding her head as she tries to keep it together. I sigh quietly, leaning my head atop hers as I purse my lips. She really is the strongest girl I've ever known. Trying desperately to hold it together until she can get to the safety and comfort of the apartment.
Thankfully, the drive doesn't take that long as the pain slowly begins to seep back in for the both of us. We're both extremely tired at this point, still nowhere near to being properly recovered just as Jin had scolded earlier. Though, we hide it as we cross the lobby floor of the complex, going straight over to the elevator with seeming ease. It's not until we're inside it and heading up that she leans heavily on me for support, struggling after everything that's happened today. Thankfully, it doesn't take too long to reach the top floor.
I let her lead the way, unsure of whether she would want to go into Jin and Jimin's room or her own. Not too surprisingly, she goes for her brothers room, probably needing the extra comfort and confirmation that she won't lose him too. Though, when we walk in, I don't even need to take a look over at where they're at on their bed to know what's going on as the two boys are a moaning mess. Glancing down at Cho, she's not even phased by it, holding my hand gently as she pulls us to one of the sofas in the room.
"Do you want me to go get you some medicine, Cho?" I ask softly as she collapses onto the furniture. Lips pouted yet pursed together, she nods.
"Top drawer on the left side of their bed from here. The bottle of Valium and then one of the bottles of whiskey from the kitchen. They keep it in the cupboard beside the refrigerator." She instructs quietly. I simply nod my head, leaning down and pecking her lips lightly before going over to collect the items, trying desperately to avoid looking over at the two boys having sex on the bed.
