: Summer, Kind of Wonderful :

"Unlike the rest of us, sex, lies and scandal never take a vacation. Instead, they take the long island expressway and head east to the Hamptons. Some would say summer is their busiest season. Think Park Avenue, but with tennis whites and bain de soleli. The players change, but the game remains the same. Also, a warm welcome to the Carringtons, word is they are also heading east. Have fun."

The youngest of the Carrington siblings scrolled to the end of the blog post,

"Rich, who the fuck is this Gossip Girl?", Valerie questioned as her brother walked back and forth in the living room of their 5th Ave apartment. Her brother exhaled – as he carried the last of her bags to the door, "a blogger – think like Perez Hilton for California".
The siblings both took their leave and out the apartment towards the awaiting SUV that would take them to the Hamptons, "well whoever she is – she knows where we are heading".

Once they arrived at their rental home for the duration of their stay, Valerie's phone pinged as a notification showed on her screen. She started reading out loud.

"Spotted --- Valerie Carrington and her brother Richard arriving to their rental home, a home with ocean view of Cooper's Beach – ",

"So much for dissing the blogger", Richard snickered interrupting her. She pushed him and made her way to the backyard, "I'm heading out to the beach. Don't bother me", she stated locking her phone and grabbing the beach essentials.

She trudged through the sand and countless families until she came to a spot she semi liked. Semi because it was situated next to three topless females, with a guy lounging on a beach chair holding a glass of champagne.

"This will do", she muttered to herself but looking around once more to see if a decent spot was available.

"Mr. Chuck?", a foreign voice asked next to Valerie. She wasn't an eavesdropper, but she couldn't help but wonder what a guy who looked the same age as her, was doing with three foreign women. To each their own, she thought to herself.

The Chuck fellow responded, "the only thing I need to take care of is you...", he then looked at the second girl on the sand, "and you...", "and you" he finished looking at the one reading a magazine.

"Also spotted --- Serena Van Der Woodsen on Cooper's Beach alone again..."

Valerie noticed a blonde girl walking and standing in front of the foreign girls and giving Chuck a disgusted look. He simply smirked and tipped his glass. The blonde girl then walked over to Valerie and smiled, "Valerie?".

Valerie looked up and smiled, "Yes?". The blonde girl extended her hand to Valerie, "Sorry, I read the blog post earlier, and wanted to give you a warm welcome. I'm Serena, would you like to sit with me", she stated, "farther away from the indecent exposure".

Chuck looked over and took in the sight of the youngest Carrington.

A Carrington that was suddenly on his radar.

Valerie chuckled, "that seems like a good idea", she said looking over at the girls and finally at Chuck.

"We've heard talk that things are heating up with Nate Archibald, and where there's smoke, there's usually fire. But if that's the case, why is Nate fallen right off our radar.."

Serena and Valerie walked farther from Chuck and situated themselves next to the lifeguard. A lifeguard who made flirty eyes with Serena. They placed their towels on the sand and took in the scenery.

"and Serena, making friends with the youngest Carrington, wonder if she knew lonely boy wasn't so lonely anymore".

"How are you liking the Hamptons so far?", Serena questioned.

Valerie looked out into the ocean, "so far, I'm liking it. I think I needed a fresh start".

Serena knew the feeling, "I can imagine".

"How do you know Mr. Chuck", she asked Serena repeating the Mr. Chuck in an accent.

"His dad and my mother are together", she explained, "so that makes us, "family", she quoted.

Both girls spent the rest of the afternoon getting to know each other, while Chuck was trying to decide if chasing Blair was the right choice. After all, Valerie seemed more of his type of girl.

A/N:

How was chapter one for starters. I'm kind of trying to steer from Chuck and Blair and maybe him moving on with Valerie and Blair with her man.
I'm loving how this story is playing out in my head, hopefully it turns out well on here.

Let me know your thoughts?

xx
