Valerie in that blissful moment, didn't know that a couple of minutes later it would crumble around her.
Chuck's world to be exact.
Bart was gone, and so was Chuck.
It had been days since Valerie had contact with him.
She called him several times an hour, left numerous voicemails; but none were return.
Reaching over to her bedside, she dialed Nate's number.
"Hello?".
"Hey Nate, how's everything?", she asked as she walked to the backyard.
She needed to know whether Chuck was ok, anything.
She heard him sigh, "I know you're calling for Chuck".
Valerie held her breath, "how is he?", she questioned.
"I called and they told me they keep on sending up food", he explained, "I'm assuming there's something alive up there".
She frowned, "he hasn't returned any of my calls or texts".
Nate sighed once more, "Me neither, but are you coming to the funeral today?".
Valerie really didn't know whether she was going or not.
"Bart and I really didn't get along that well. - ", Valerie was interrupted.
