After the whole ordeal at the store, Valerie didn't want to take it heart but that thought lingered at the back of her mind.

"Val?", Chuck's voice brought her back to present time.

She turned and looked at him, "yeah?"

"Were you listening to anything I just said?", he questioned.

She wrinkled her nose, "totally".

He looked at her, "so what do you think?".

Damn, he was good.

"Fine", Valerie gave in, "I wasn't totally here".

He chuckled, "We are actually going back to my place and then I'll drop you off at home".

"Drop me off and have your fun", she muttered but he seemed to have caught that.

"What?".

"Nothing", she stated and looked out the window at the city.

Chuck hadn't known her until a couple weeks ago, but he seemed to have picked up she wasn't well.

Then one thought rushed to him,

Blair.

Valerie was sitting on Chuck's couch when he came back from his room, with a changed attire.

"Where are you off to?", Valerie asked looking at him over once maybe twice.

He smirked, "we are going to a special event tonight", he straightened his suit, "go put on the dress you bought this afternoon".

Valerie raised any eyebrow, "are you always wearing suits?"

He walked closer to her, who was sitting on the couch. He leaned, hovering over her,

"Sweetheart, I'm Chuck Bass. The suits – ", he leaned in to her ear, "come with the territory".

That simple gesture raised all the hairs on her body, and just like that he took a seat next to her.

Valerie who was in a daze, got off the couch and headed to Chuck's room to change.

To Valerie, it was about twenty minutes but in present time it was more than an hour.

"Here comes the birthday girl", Chuck announced, "you look breathtaking as always".

Valerie blushed as she bashfully looked down.

Chuck then led her towards the elevator as they both went downstairs to the awaiting limo.

The whole car ride to the location, she desperately wanted to ask Chuck what had happened earlier today with the whole Blair thing and the whole "my girlfriend" thing.

"Valerie"

"Chuck"

"You first"

"Ladies first".

"I've been meaning to ask you something?", she started.

Chuck looked on waiting for the question, but he had a feeling of what it was about.

"Wh-"

"Where are we heading to?", she asked.

For a second, Chuck held a confused expression, but it switched back.

"that's for me to know and for you to – ",

" dot dot dot", Valerie joined in Chuck's statement.

As they neared Chuck turned over and handed Valerie a blindfold.

"What's this for?", she questioned.

Chuck smirked, "I prefer other options for this but right now it's to cover your eyes".

Valerie laughed but obliged as she placed it over her eyes while Chuck helped her with the tying.

"No peaking", Chuck said as he guided her from behind.

"Really, I'm more focused on not running into things", Valerie shouted as she placed her arms in front of her fanning them from side to side.

The room was quiet and a tad bit cold, no noises or voices could be heard.

She felt Chuck's hands untying the blindfold and on the count of three it was off.

"SURPRISE!!!!".

A chorus of people shouted as they clapped while confetti fell from above.

Valerie couldn't believe Chuck planned all this in a short amount of time. Her eyes scanned the mass of invitees.

Richard, Allison, Serena, Nate, Dan, Vanessa, Blair, and other people that knew her from her father's side. Richard must have invited them.

The venue was decorated with lanterns that hung from above, the lightening slightly dim. The tables decorated with their champagne flute glasses, a mini vase with flowers, and individual plates with decorative napkins on them.

It simply screamed Valerie.

She knew her brother helped.

Allison ran up to Val, and hugged it, "and don't worry I'm flu free".

She was exhausted after what seemed like forever, all the invitees wished her a happy birthday.

"The best one always for last right", Valerie turned around.

"Oh my gosh!!".
