Later that evening back at the Van der Woodsen and Bass residence people from the funeral were mingling while Chopin's Waltz for Piano no. 10 was heard throughout the area.

The elevator dinged, doors opening, "you don't have to stay that long", Nate voiced as the four of them left the elevator, "just let people shake your hand, say hello, you're done".

Chuck then proceeded to take off his jacket, "you don't have to convince me", he muttered as he gave his jacket to a maid.

"Oh, good. Well, I just thought that after what happened at the church, you might not want to be here", Blair spoke.

"This is exactly where I want to be", Chuck voiced turning from Valerie, Blair and Nate, "I have business to attend to".

"Okay, that's fine, but let's just find you a quiet corner, and get some food in your stomach", Valerie stated.

"I'm not in the mood for food", he uttered taking a drink off a waiter's tray downing it.

Here we go again, Valerie thought to herself.

Chuck slightly touched Valerie's arm and just went upstairs leaving the trio behind.

"He needs some time", Valerie spoke but her body screamed for her to go with him.

She was with Serena, Nate and Blair in the living room, about an hour.

Suddenly, they noticed Chuck coming down the steps more unbalanced than before.

He drank more, she thought to herself.

She noticed Chuck's asking for his coat, "Where is he going?", she questioned the group.

"Chuck?", Nate called out.

Chuck turned around, "Got to go, can't talk".

"Go where?". Valerie asked, "everyone you know is standing in this room".

He never once lifted his face from the floor, "I don't want to be here".

Just then, Eric voiced next to Serena his voice slightly breaking, "we want you here. I just lost my stepfather. I don't want to lose my brother, too".

Valerie looked on, Eric did really care for Chuck whether they were brothers or not.

Chuck simply lifted his face looking at Eric, "when are you going to get it?".

Oh, no. Valerie looked on.

"We are not related", Chuck finished as he turned around from them once again.

Twice in that day.

Valerie was about to go after him, when Nate tried to stop her, "Hey,Hey,Hey. Just let him go".
