Rye's P.O.V

I parked up in the driveway, where Brook and Alex immediately rushed out.

"What did they say? About Andy? Is he okay?"

"Calm down, Brook. Andy... he's in a coma. They're not entirely sure for how long, but they said there were other reasons other than being shot. Fuck," I whispered. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, realising only a coffee would help. Staying up worrying about Andy wasn't worth it if I didn't have a coffee.

"Do you want a coffee, Prince Rye?" It was as if Alex had read my mind, and I nodded in response.

"Just bring it up to my room. Where's Mikey?"

Brook shrugged. "Either the garden, his room or in the shower. But, the thing is, he doesn't even feel bad about what he said. He told me himself, Rye. It's no use confronting him about it and causing more tension than you need. All you need to do is rest. As much as you can."

I glanced at my older brother, thanking him for his sincerity.

"Thanks, Brooky. I'm going to be in my room, okay? Just, if Mikey asks for me, tell him."

"Are you sure that's a good idea, bro?"

I gave him a pointed look. "I don't know. Oh, fuck him." I took my hoodie and headed into my room. Stripping off, I got in the shower, trying to relax my mind a little.

"Rye?"

I sighed at the voice, knowing exactly who it was.

"Coming." I switched off the shower and wrapped the towel around my waist, walking into my room. "What do you want, Mikey?"

My best friend, who hadn't really been acting like one, stared down, clearly at my towel.

"Eyes up here, mate."

His eyes snapped back up, revealing a guilty look on his face.

"I'm sorry," he whispered.

I stared blankly, as if wishing that what he'd said wasn't just a mere apology.

"Why do you hate him so much? Can't you see that I'm happy with him, Mike? I thought that you, being my best friend and all, would be more supportive than anyone else. Instead, you're here acting jealous as fuck. What's up?"

Mikey refused to look me in the eye, and it was all I needed to know he had no valid reason.

"You weren't happy with him before, when you first got married. So what changed?"

"Everything. I stopped being such an asshole to him, after I realised the shit he had been through because of me. Because of us, too. His best friend left him because I couldn't keep my behaviour in line, and we were forced to get married. Of course, I don't regret being married, but my actions were just fucked up."

Mikey was silent, playing with the hem of his shirt.

"Aren't you going to say something then?"

Mikey looked up, and shrugged.

"Then get the fuck out of my room. Until you know how to act around me and Andy, I don't want to see your face."

He left, slamming the door behind him. I groaned when there was yet another knock at the door. It opened to reveal Alex with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Are you okay?"

I opened my mouth to snap at him, but decided against it. "I'm fine, thanks." I took the cup from him and nodded, dismissing him again.

My phone buzzed in my hand, and I smiled at the name.

"Hey, what's up, Soph?"

"Ryan Beaumont, you have not called me once in two weeks. I want to meet him!"

My father's head of security, Blair, had a wife who was more like my sister. Sophie definitely didn't act her age.

"Uh, yeah. Sure." I tried to mask my sadness, failing to do so.

"What is it, Rye? What's wrong?"

"Andy's in hospital, Soph." I was a little surprised she didn't know; surely Blair must've told her.

"Shit. What happened, love?"

"He, he got shot when we were at the mall yesterday. He's going to be in a coma for a couple of weeks or something. I miss him so much, Sophie."

"Of course you do, darling. But what changed? I thought you hated the idea of getting married."

"I saw what I was putting him through, and I just felt so bad."

"Aww. Don't worry, Rye, Andy's going to be right as rain before you know it."

I thanked her, and we continued to talk until she had to go.

"I love you, babe. Be safe, okay?"

"I will. Love you too, Soph." I hung up, throwing my phone on the bed. Alex walked in again, and went to take the empty coffee cup, but I stopped him.

"Did Andy hate me before? You were close to him before, so..."

Alex sighed, taking a seat on the bed beside me.

"It's not that he hated you. He was upset about before, and the way you treated him when you got angry made him angry, too. He was hurt that you didn't care, and was angry that he had to marry, in his own words, 'a fucking prick'."

I looked out the window, stars illuminating the sky. The balcony door was open, letting a breeze come through.

"Just call me if you need anything else, Prince Rye." Alex took the coffee cup and left again, shutting the door. Apart from the wind coming in, it was silent, and slightly eerie. I knocked on Brook's door, but got no answer.

They must all be downstairs.

I headed down the stairs pretty quietly, and stopped in my tracks when I heard Alex and Brook talking in the kitchen.

"You can't, Alex," Brook said. They were unaware I was outside the door, listening.

"Don't you think I know that, Brook? I just, it hurt to see him upset like he was. I know Rye's his husband, but I can't help feeling these things. If he wasn't married, I'd ask him in an instant. But I can't."

"I thought you liked Mikey, anyway?"

"Shh! Rye doesn't have to know that, does he? I like his husband, and used to like his best friend? Yeah, no thanks."

"Used to? Yeah right, Alex."

Alex huffed, and I heard him start to wash up.

"I don't know, Brooklyn. But either way, Ryan doesn't have to find out. And you're not going to tell him, okay?"

"You have to tell him eventually. Even Andy's oblivious to it."

I heard footsteps approaching the door, and ran into the living room, hurriedly taking a seat.

"Hey, little bro. You okay?" Brook appeared in the doorway. "Why do you look so flustered?"

"Do I? I don't know. I'm going to go on a run, just to clear my head for a while."

"Uh, okay. Be safe."

"I will."

A/N This will be the last chapter I post for a few weeks, just because I've been trying to catch up on my school work. I'll still read all the comments that come in, but don't expect a new chapter for a week or two xx
