"Rye, I'm right here. Tell me what's wrong."
"I don't have to tell you anything, Andrew."
"Don't call me that, please. Rye, tell me what's on your mind...
Give me just a little bit of your heart."

"Hey, Fovvs?" Brook asked, walking into my bedroom. I was just messing around with my guitar, placing it on the bed when he sat beside me. "I need your help with something."
"Sure, what do you need?" I asked, a little confused. Brook didn't usually come to me asking for help, so I was more than happy to help. "You seem scared."
"No, not scared... just fucking anxious," he laughed nervously, biting his lip. "Um, I want to propose."
For a minute, I was frozen in shock, making me answer stupidly. "Brook, I'm married to your brother, mate," I chuckled, making him smile.
"No, no. To Jack. I want to propose to Jack. I love him so so much, Andy. And... you're his best friend, so I came to you, because you know him the best," Brook said quietly, twisting his hands together. I cooed, going to hug the older blonde, letting him know it was going to be okay. The two were hopelessly in love; there was no way on earth that Jack could say no.
"Of course! Do you have the ring?" I asked, getting excited now.
"No, not yet. I'm going to buy it later today, though; could you come with me? I've asked Rye to keep J distracted, just while we're gone. Holy shit, I'm so nervous."
"Hey, Brooklyn. It's fine to be nervous; it's showing me how much you care about my best friend. And you know he's going to say yes, so you've got nothing to worry about. As long as you're prepared to commit the rest of your life to Jack, that's all that matters," I reassured him, smiling when he nodded slowly. "Do you want to go now?"
Brook nodded and held his keys up with a smile, following me out as we left.

"Brook, what about this one?" I asked, beckoning him over to the one I was admiring. He smiled, nodding.

"I think that's the one. You think he'll like it, Andy?" Brook asked, biting on his lip. I grabbed a hold of his arms and stared directly into his eyes.
"I know Jack, and there's nothing he'll love more than this. It's gorgeous, Brook. He'd be crazy to say no, and I'll tell him that myself if the worst comes to worst," I nodded, and Brook agreed, admiring the ring again.
"C-can we get this one?" He asked the woman behind the counter, who nodded.
"It's a wonderful choice, Prince Brooklyn. Prince Andy here has amazing taste," she laughed, smiling at me. "Who's the lucky person, if you don't mind me asking?"
"A boy I love with all my heart," Brook replied wistfully. "But... a relationship that comes with its hardships. Sorry."
He excused himself and walked out of the shop, giving me the money for the ring beforehand. Once paying for it, I left until I spotted Brook with his head hung low, tears falling onto his lap. I placed the little bag in his lap and hugged his torso, staying silent. He would talk when he was ready, and I wasn't going to push him.
