Chapter 13: Suitcase

I  felt relieved knowing that Jennie is safe. I may not like being far away  from her, but I know, it's the best thing to do at this point. I wish I  could do more to help. I can't imagine going through what she does  alone. "Jisoo-unnie, do you think Jennie will be okay there?" I asked  Jisoo that sat on the couch in the living room.

"I  think she will be. It's not going to be easy but we are here to help  her. Right now, she's safe at my place. No one knows where I live. I  hate it when people come over. Hell, my parents don't even know where I  live." She answered. "Are you some kind of fugitive or something? Why do  you keep your place so hidden? I mean, Of course, it's useful now as it  is but what about before?" I asked out of curiosity. 

"I  like my own space. I don't like visitors so." She said as she throws me a  pillow from the couch. "I'm not a fugitive you dumbass, I'm someone who  happens to like privacy. We almost got caught earlier too! Your acting  fucking sucked I almost shit my pants. Good thing Jendeuk got out of  your apartment before you and his father arrived." She said.

"I'm  not so sure he fell for it though; her father said I know more than I  say. He is not wrong though. He's some kind of psychic and I'm beyond  scared to go to work tomorrow." I said as I started to panic. "Ya, calm  the fuck down, I can't think if you're pacing like that over there. Sit  still!" Jisoo commanded.

"You  know, for someone so small like you, I'm surprised you have such a  potty mouth." I said and it's in fact true. Since I met this woman, I  couldn't remember how many times I heard her swear and it's already  starting to ring in my ear.

"What  does my height have to do with anything? I'd rather be small but smart  than tall and dumb" She bit back. "Whoever said you were smart? Your  system got hacked with Jennie's info in it. You're a dumbass too!" I  said in frustration, "She wouldn't end up where she is right now if it  wasn't for your stupid database. Which reminds me, wouldn't your info be  in it as well? Did you ever think that Jennie's father might have known  who you are already? Knowing the fact that you're Jennie's boss as  well? We got played so bad today unnie."

"We're  boo boo fucking fools we got clowned. Ugh, I can't believe this." Jisoo  said as she sighed in defeat.  "See, not so smart so don't fucking  brag. We need to help Jennie. I have to think of something." I said.

The  morning came and it was the day I had to go back to work and face  Jennie's father, yet again. As I park my car within the building, I saw  Chaeng waiting for me outside. "Ya, Lalisa, What's going on for real?  Why are you with Mr Kim yesterday? Do you have anything to do with his  daughter? You don't want to mess with that man you dumbass, what's going  on with you?" She said. "Chaeng, there's already a lot going on and I  really don't know where to begin for you to understand things but I'm  already in deep shit as it is. Whatever happens, happens at this point."  I said.

"So,  it is true? The daughter is with you?" She asked. "She was. But not  anymore." I said. "I'm dating his daughter." I said as I saw Chaeng's  jaw drop and hung open at my revelation. "Jesus Christ Lalisa since when  were you into women? And of all the people? You decide to date our  boss's daughter. What the fuck were you thinking? Where did you even  meet her?"  Chaeng asked in full panic mode.

"She's  my neighbour and we pretty much hit it off." I said. "Listen Chaeng, I  need you to be fucking quiet about this. I told you because you are my  best friend and I trust you. Promise me not to tell a soul about this  okay?" I said. "I gotta find a way to help Jennie out. But I gotta go in  there and see what Mr Kim wants to talk about today." I added as my  friend nodded. "I hope you know what you're getting yourself into." She  said as she hugged me. "If you need anything, please, stop hiding things  from me. I'm your best friend for fucks sake." Chaeng said as we both  walked in the building.
