"Chase!" Asher calls.

I look up from my phone and spot my favorite blondie waving at me.

"What's up?" I ask, joining him beside his car.

"You free tonight?" He questions, looking down at me with those mesmerizing blue eyes.

"I have a bit of homework to finish," I say.

"Oh. How long would that take?"

"Maybe an hour at most."

"Okay. Sweet. I'll pick you up at 7."

"Wait. What?"

"We're going out tonight, beautiful. Be ready by 7. Wear something nice."

My insides become all mushy as I blush.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"You'll see," is all he says. "I'll see you in a few hours, cutie."

My stomach flutters.

Ash hugs me and kisses the corner of my lips sending sparks through my body.

I hug him again before going to my own car. I smile to myself as I think about Asher and our "relationship".

I drive to my house, go to my room, finish my homework, and get ready.

"MOM!" I call.

"What?" She asks.

"Can you help me do my hair?"

"Yup!" Soon, she comes into my room and starts straightening my naturally frizzy waves.

"Asher finally asked you out?" Mom asks, grabbing another section of my hair.

"Sort of," I give her a quick rundown of the situation.

"Well, I think he's taking you on a date. You two will be official and even go to prom which is in 10 days."

"You're keeping count?"

"Yup."

I sigh and check my phone. There's a Snapchat notification.

I open the snap to see Harper's adorable little smile and the caption "he wishes me luck for our date".

So it is a date.

"And done," Mom brushes my hair to make sure it's all straight before unplugging the flat iron.

"Thanks," I say, standing up.

She nods. "Now finish getting ready for your future husband."

I gasp. "Mom!"

She cackles as she leaves my room.

I shake my head and close my door while replying to Asher.

A few minutes later, my hair is good, my dress is simple but good, and I used a bit of concealer and bb cream to make my skin look better.

The bell rings and I nearly slip.

"CHASE! YOUR BOYFRIEND IS HERE!" Daniel shouts.

I curse and race down the stairs as fast as I can, slowing down at the last few steps to make it seem like I wasn't just sprinting.

I catch Asher's eye and see his lips pull into a heartwarming smile.

"She's there isn't she?" Mom asks with a laugh.

"Sorry, ma'am. I got distracted," Asher apologizes as I walk up to them. "Where you saying something?"

"Just the usual. Take care of her and don't drink or do anything stupid," Mom says.
