"Baby, you got this. You're going to go in there and get it over with," I assure him.
"I'm going to die," He moans.
I tilt my head and kiss his lips. "You can do it. It's just a small needle."
Asher winces and squeezes me tighter. "I don't like needles."
I sigh. "I know you don't, but you have to get your blood drawn."
"I don't want to! Cant I just like get a paper cut or a bloody nose so they can get the blood from there?"
"That's....that's not how it works," I deadpan. I'm starting to understand why Jenny begged me to take him to the doctor. She came back this morning from Italy and asked me to take Asher to get his blood drawn. I assumed that it was because she was incredibly tired, but now I know the real reason.
"Why not, Chase? Hm?"
"Because the blood isn't supposed to touch the air."
"Asher Bradley?" The nurse calls.
I stand up and pull Asher up.
"I don't want to," He whines but I drag him with me.
I ignore him.
"You don't like me!"
I roll my eyes. "Yes I do. I like you, but you're being dramatic right now."
"You're a meanie," He pouts.
"Sir, hold still," The nurse says.
Asher looks up at me in confusion. "How did I get in the chair already?"
I smirk. "I'm good at distracting you."
"Hell yeah you are," He pulls me closer and kisses me.
"And done," The nurse announces, causing Asher and I to break our kiss.
I smirk in victory as Asher looks at his inner elbow that is bandaged.
"See, baby?" I start. "It wasn't so bad."
"Chase, I'm going to faint," He tells me in a quiet voice.
I chuckle. "Baby, you're not. You're okay."
A thud is heard as Asher falls from the chair and onto the floor.
The nurse whips around and gasps.
"He wasn't kidding," I comment.
:::
"I warned you," Asher says as I drive us home.
"You did," I assure him. "Make sure you finish that water."
"I know, Chase," My boyfriend says, taking another sip of water. "Why can't you kiss me?"
"Because you're going to get light headed and I don't want you to pass out again."
"But it's a good light-headed!"
"That doesn't concern me. For right now, light headed is light headed. Besides it's only for the rest of today. Tomorrow, you can kiss me all you want."
"But you have work tomorrow."
"Only for a few hours."
"That's forever," Asher whines just I pull into my driveway.
"Quit acting like a baby, babe," I say, parking and turning off the car.
"I have every right to act like a baby," Asher humphs. "I got my blood drawn and fainted."
