"Damn, back to Vampire Academy." Kate grumbled as the group left the SUV's, the two girls instantly gluing themselves together, migrating to the back of the SUV to grab their bags, something that Dimitri rose a brow at while picking up the bags and duffel bags himself, which in turn had Kate rolling her eyes at him

"Please don't say Vampire Academy. You know how I feel about the 'V' word." Lissa muttered, shuddering as she did, despite having lived in the Human world for nearly two years, she still hadn't gotten used to the word vampire

"Sorry. It's not like the drinking of blood is your main source of sustenance. Actually, wait, that's exactly what it is." the brunette taunted teasingly with a beaming smile making Lissa nudge her slightly, still she stood next to Lissa again and hooked their arms.

"God, I hate high school." the pale blonde grumbled as they continued to follow after the Guardians.

Lissa knew where they were but Kate did not, causing her to inquire out loud, "Hey, Comrade." no Guardian turned around but the brunette knew that the Russian Dhampir had heard her leading her to continue "Are you taking us to Kirova?"

"Headmistress Kirova," he corrected, Lissa chuckled knowing that it shocked everyone that the brunette had been talking, or rather inquiring the Leader and that he actually replied.

Kate hummed and looked at Lissa, who rolled her pale jade green eyes at the brunette as they were led through a set of doors, which appeared to lead straight into the commons. Lissa seemed to tense further more making the brunette sigh, knowing exactly why, walking through the people that used to be your worst nightmare even if Lissa used to socialize with them.

There had to be at least a dozen ways to get to witch's office, and they were taking the girls right through the centre of the commons when it was breakfast time, almost as if they were parading the runaway Princess and her newest Dhampir pet.

Novice guardians, Dhampirs and Moroi sat together, eating and socialising, faces alight with whatever current gossip held the Academy's attention, although when the group entered, the loud buzz of conversation stopped instantly, like someone had flipped a switch and hundreds of sets of eyes swivelled toward us.

Katherine returned the stares of many of Lissa's former classmates with a lazy grin, trying to get a sense as to whether things were different from what Lissa had claimed. Seeing as there seemed to be no visible change in the air, Kate smirked and, while still having her arm hooked with Lissa's, stuffed her hands in her pokcets.

Many students averted their eyes when they saw Kate looking at them with a smirk, the human embodiment of a dobberman.

Off to the side, Lissa caught the sight of her gawky near-cousin, Natalie Dashkov, watching the scene with wide eyes, as innocent and naive as one could be, and on the other side of the room. Aaron Drozdov, Lissa's ex, someone from whom Lissa quickly averted her gaze, but not before noticing him holding the hand of a blonde girl, Moroi due to the lack of Dhampir features, who looked about eleven but had to be older, unless he'd become a pedophile during Lissa's absence, something that made Lissa frown after looking away.
