From the windows in Lissa's bedroom, Kate could see that the sun had begun to set and soon everyone would rise, get ready for classes. She had lost track of time as she held Lissa, her right hand still pressed against Lissa's cheek and temple, massaging it and rubbing it gently while her left hand held a book that she had started to read.
Oscar had climbed into bed with the two girls and made his bed on Lissa's stomach, he'd stare at Kate every once in a while causing Kate to stare at him and blow him a kiss which he responded with a soft meow and a gentle pat on the arm, still so unlike how animals behaved around Dhampirs, but then again Kate wasn't raised as a Dhampir, so Oscar most likely doesn't feel threatened by his other mom's presence.
Soon enough, Lissa began to wake up, shifting on top of Kate's chest alerting the brunette that she was ready to end her dream walk, so Kate gently and slowly cut off the connection and allowed Lissa to fully come back to conscience.
Bright and vibrant red irises gave way to jade green and forest green, the former fluttering open to find the latter gazing down softly at her. "Had a nice time?" Kate inquired, voice hoarse and low from lack of use over the hours, Lissa nodded and reached her pale and warm hand upwards, placing it on top of Kate's semi-cold one.
"How long did you keep it up for?" Lissa inquired in return, her sweet and almost melodic voice slightly covered with worry.
Kate knew what would be the outcome if she told Lissa the truth, an angry Lissa would appear before her, berating her like a mother would, reminding her that using too much of her gift or for too long would have undesired consequences.
So she lied, hid her exhaustion with soreness from the previous night's training session, and claimed calmly "Not long, maybe an hour tops."
Had Lissa been more awake and sensed the brunette's emotions, she would have seen through Kate's bold lie instantly, but alas she didn't, something that had Kate thanking whatever god was looking down on them that sunset.
Nodding Lissa looked at the clock on the bedside table and groaned rather loudly, making Kate slowly follow her stare, an hour and a half until classes started meaning fifteen minutes for Kate to haul her tired and sore ass to the gym.
"I have to go..." Kate whispered to the blonde, who's jade green eyes snapped to her, a sad expression etching on her face, "I know but trust me neither of us want the Russian cowboy barging in here looking for me." Kate quickly told her making Lissa nod slightly.
The blonde begrudgingly detached herself from Kate's chest and watched as the brunette slipped out of the very comfortable bed, Oscar making his complaints heard in the room, "I'll see you at lunch?" Lissa inquired lowly, definitely not liking the new timetable, especially not when she and Kate had been using a day schedule for the past two years.
