Mariah's POV
I began to feel queasy once we reach the steps. Before I could turn around Lacey rang the doorbell.
"God no, you are not invited Lacey. Every time you come to one of my parties you start drama."
"Oh Lawrence, brother dear, every party deserves a bit of drama. Before you kick us out, think of the disservice you would be doing to Mariah here. Did you know that she has never been to a real party before?"
Lawrence turned to look at me and asked, "Have you really never been to a party? How are the two of you even friends?"
"Well no, I have never been to a party and you already know why we are best friends."
"Please Lawrence, I promise there will be no swinging from the chandeliers."
"Just this once Lacey, but remember I'm only doing this for Mariah."
"Love your brother," Lacey said as we walked into the crowd.
The party was in full swing. The music was blasting and the drinks were flowing.
"Look, over in the corner, that's Chaz-"
"Wait, so that's the Chaz you're always talking about?"
"I don't always talk about him."
"You can't talk about him enough. You're always talking about how Chaz is so tall. Chaz is so hot. Chaz has the most amazing eyes you have ever-"
Lacey put her hand over my mouth so fast I didn't have time to react.
A few seconds later a deep voice said, "So you think I'm hot and I have amazing eyes huh?"
During the time that I was talking to Lacey, Chaz had made his way across the room to where we were. He also heard when I was making fun of Lacey. Serves her right.
Things were about to get very interesting. Who knows, maybe I would have fun at this party after all.
