Markey's POV
I pulled up to Lawrence's home and the place was packed. I almost couldn't find a place to park."Yo what's up, glad you could make it." Lawrence greeted me as I walked through the door.
"Man, this seems to be the party of the century, everyone's here." I scanned the crowd to see which beauty I would be taking home tonight. Wait, Leigh is still at the house.... Maybe I will go to her house. Walk of shame here I come.
"Lawrence, you throw a hell of a party my friend."
He smirked and said, "Brent and Chaz are waiting for you in the corner by the bar, I'm sure Lacey and her friend will be there too."
"Wait, Lacey has friends?"
Lawrence laughed, "Just one, God knows why that girl and Lacey are friends. They are complete opposites. Where Lacey is loud and sometimes obnoxious, she is timid and genuinely sweet. Every time I asked why they are friends she goes on about how our mothers had them on the same day at the same hospital."
"So that means they have to be friends?"
"The friendship makes them happy. If my sister is happy, life is good ya know."
"I understand all too well."
"Enough of me monopolizing your time, go and enjoy the party."
I see Chaz on the couch chatting with Lacey and her friend so I head that way. Lacey is cute and all, but she is too much for me. Too loud, too nosey, too annoying.
As I get closer I can begin to make out the features of her friend. She is short, like really short, maybe 5'2. She has curly hair in some type of up do.
"You finally made it; I thought we would have to send out a search party."
"Haven't you realized by now that your thought process is completely fucked up? I mean look at your shirt, you thought that I was okay to wear that to this party."
Lacey and her friend begin to laugh. She has a soft laugh, almost like she doesn't want anyone to hear. It's like the tinkling sound my mother's wind chime makes.
When she laughs, she laughs with her whole body. It kind of folds into itself as her shoulders shake.
Why am I noticing all this?
As that question crosses my mind, she lifts her head and our eyes lock.
In that moment I decide, that we will be going home together tonight. I don't even care if she has a man. If he feels played, then he never should have left her in my vicinity unattended.
I bite my bottoms lip and see a blush form on her cheeks. It makes me wonder if that same blush will grace a second pair of cheeks later on tonight.
Let the games begin.
