Markey's POV
I brought Leigh back home and she disappeared. She was probably off to tell her friends about her dress. Girls.
I went to my room to get ready for tonight. I just grabbed the first thing in my closet. Hopefully, Chaz wore something decent tonight. Sometimes I wonder why Lacey even likes that fool. I also wonder why he likes Lacey.
As I'm getting dressed, I replay the moment I laid eyes on Mariah. There is just something about that girl. This is going to be a hell of a ride.
I will play this game for as long as she wants. In the end though, I will be the victor. This game is going to end the way they all do, in my bed. So, she said no when I asked for her number. But I promise she will be screaming yes in my bed.
I laced up my shoes and took a look at myself in the mirror.
I see why all these girls are fighting to get my number, with the exception of one. If I was a girl, I would want my number too.
I walked down the hall to Leigh's room.
"Hey, are you staying here tonight or do I need to drop you back home?""Dayum, you clean up nice. Where we going? Maybe I will wear one of those cute dresses you got me today."
"Well sister dear, you will either be going home or staying here for the night. I, on the other hand, have a date tonight."
"You're going on a date? I wonder who the unlucky lady is."
"Jealousy does not suit you brat. If you must know though, I am going on a date with Mariah."
"As in, the Mariah whose dress shop we visited earlier? The same Mariah who refused to give you her number last night?" She arched her brow at me like it was the oddest thing she ever heard of in life.
"Yes, the very one," I replied with a smirk on my mouth. Why would she doubt me? I mean come on, look at me. I'm 6"2, I work out just about every day, and light skinned dudes are winning right now. Who wouldn't want me!?!
"That poor lady, run along now. She is already wasting her time going on a date with you; let's not make her waste more time waiting for you. The faster you leave, the faster I can pray for that poor girl."
"Oh trust me, I will make it worth her wild."
"Yeah, it's definitely time for you to go. I'm not up for listening to my brother's dirty jokes."
I laughed as she pushed me out of her room. "Night Leigh," I said through the door.
"Night Mark, don't forget you have to drop me to school in the morning."
I hopped in my car and drove to Lacey's house. I thought I was an over protective brother, Lacey lived at the opposite end of Lawrence's property.
Around the same time I pull up in the driveway, I see Chaz pulling up in his hummer. We turn off our vehicles and head for the door.
"You think I got a shot man?" Chaz asks me as we walk up the steps. "Not a chance in hell bro," I say once we reach the door.
"Thanks a lot for your boost in confidence," Chaz says sarcastically.
"Come on now bro. For some odd reason she likes you. She has even seen you when you're in your most childish state, and she hasn't turned away yet. It makes me wonder what is wrong with her. Other than her tendency to be-"
"Bro, you say one more thing about my girl and we can't be cool anymore."
"And that was the reaction I was hoping for. She is already yours Chaz; all that's left is to let her know that."
"True. Let's go get our girls. Remember the reservation is for 10:00. We're still meeting up at the restaurant for 9:45 right?"
"Yeah. Aye, good luck man."
"I don't think I'm the one that needs luck. Mariah isn't like any of the other girls you've been with. You still haven't even gotten her number yet."
"Blah, blah, blah. By the end of the night I plan to have more than just her number."
"And that is the reason she keeps turning you down."
"Just ring the doorbell already you ass."
He rings the doorbell and we wait for them to answer the door. They seem to be a bit confused by the fact that there are two cars instead of just one. Chaz and I decided to make the most of this date. He would take Lacey out dancing before we met up at the restaurant, and I was going to take Mariah to a local fashion show. I'm not a fan of fashion, obviously. But since she was just getting her shop started, I wanted her to meet a few influential people in the fashion industry.
