Christmas day for the boys was a lot of fun. Jin's cooking was excellent as always. They played games, got quite drunk and even had the karaoke machine out.
Hoseok watched his friends singing together, having fun. He wondered why he could never be as happy as them. Why does he always fake his laughter and his smiles?
Hoseok sighed and slipped out of the house. He felt like he couldn't breathe. He was so tired of acting happy for his friends. He needed to rest a little.
Hoseok looked up at the night sky and found himself smiling at the stars.
'Why are they so beautiful?'
'Because they are stars. They are beautiful, just like you.' Taehyung stood in front of Hoseok, smiling at him. 'Stars always shine the brightest.'
Hoseok stared at Taehyung. He did not know what to do or what to say. He knew what he wanted to do. But not sure he should. Hoseok was pretty drunk, and Taehyung looked very handsome.
Hoseok remembered that smile, he had missed it so much, and his heart ached.
He forgot everything: their past, the arguments and the violence. Hoseok thought of the smiles, the kisses, the sweet words, the love. And he found himself in Taehyung's arms. Their lips met, their hearts beat fast. Hoseok realised that this was what he had been missing.
'Hoseok!' Jungkook gasped.
Hoseok and Taehyung reluctantly broke apart.
'What the fuck guys!'
'Kookie,' Taehyung said. 'It was my fault.'
Hoseok whispered. 'Kookie. Please don't tell the others.'
'Oh, no. I'm not keeping secrets. No way.'
Taehyung pleaded. 'It was a mistake. He's drunk. He must have thought I was Jimin...So, there's nothing to tell, okay?'
Hoseok put his head down. He felt hurt that Taehyung had said it was a mistake because for Hoseok it was not a mistake. It felt right.
Jungkook sighed. 'Hobi. You thought he was Jimin?'
Hoseok nodded solemnly. 'It won't happen again.'
'Alright,' Jungkook nodded. 'Come inside. You need to sober up. And Tae, go home. I'll deal with you later.'
Taehyung nodded and set off home. A smile crept across his lips. He had not expected that to happen; it was a reasonable mistake.
Suga moved away from the door before Jungkook brought Hoseok back inside. He had heard everything. He remained silent, however. He would deal with it later.
