The next two days were spent by the Abernathys and their relatives seeing the sights of Los Angeles. Nearly every one of them went on their sightseeing excursions each day, including Forest, exploring the various places that interested them around the city. Although Julie and her family accompanied them on several of the days, they decided to go home at the end of the weekend. Both Jake and Aaron wanted to spend some of their days off from school with friends instead of so much of the family. In the meantime though, they thoroughly enjoyed the weekend with their relatives from New York.
Each day, there were so many family members going on their sightseeing trips, every excursion required more than one car. Through it all, everybody talked and visited and got to know one another better, especially Jessie, Zack, Megan, and Adam. Gradually they learned the foursome had more than a few things in common. Even Oliver it seemed shared things with Jessie and someone he remembered as Gil, something the others found surprising. He didn't recognize Zack at all, though he shared he sometimes had repeating dreams about Melody, Megan and Adam; dreams of the kind that sent them all here, though he disagreed with Adam about what their names were.
Caleb, it seemed, was another story. Of the young people of his generation in the family, he alone insisted he didn't have dreams.
"Xavier and Sasha don't either," Caleb pointed out.
"I don't think Aunt Leah's kids do either," Megan told him. "I think it's only me, Adam, and Oliver who do."
"Which is why the three of you were so interested in coming here," Liam recognized.
"It makes sense," Julie pointed out.
"I know. This has been really good," Jessie agreed. "But I do wish Bert could be here."
"I wish all of the Goodmans could, instead of being in Ohio," Zack said. "I think it would be good for all of them to meet Adam and Megan and Oliver."
"But especially Bert," Jessie insisted. "He was Gil last time. I think Oliver probably knew him."
"Do you really think so?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah, maybe," Zack said thoughtfully.
The others were ready to let it drop, but Jessie had more trouble letting it go.
"Perhaps another time," Greg told her at one particular sightseeing stop while they walked Forest before getting back in the car. "If it is the Lord's will for the two to meet, he will find a way."
"I know, Papa," Jessie said seriously. "I see that too. It's like I know it will probably happen ... someday."
"You help Oliver, Jessie. Not me," Melody told her.
"I will," Jessie told her earnestly.
Greg nodded seriously, but made no further comment on Jessie's or Melody's or even Oliver's remarks.
"Are we ready to go on to the next place?" Greg asked his nephews and their families.
"Ready when you are, Uncle," Malcom assured him.
"Very well. Follow me," Greg said.
They all did, coming to the next place to visit on their sightseeing tour. They explored the hills and neighboring areas around Hollywood, Westwood and the northern most areas of L.A.
Through it all, Greg's two nephews listened to what their sons and daughter were saying. At each stop, Greg's impression was they were trying to determine how or if their children were being influenced by their famous uncle and the things his family believed.
