Cameron

         Walking into the house, and Tati was still in the same spot I left her. She didn't even look up, she was deep in her phone as usual so I let her be. I was hungry as fuck so I hope the food was done.

I went to the kitchen and my mama was sitting at the island.

"Wassup ma." I said walking to the stove. I seen the cornbread and greens sitting on it. Nigga stomach was rumbling. This one of the things I missed while being gone, mamas cooking. I looked in the the next pot and seen the Mac and cheese.

"Hey and get out my pots." I chuckled putting the lid back on and sat across from her. She was in her phone too.

It was an awkward ass silence. I haven't sat down and had a full conversation with her since I left. I been gone a little over five years so I know she probably real curious as to why I did and I'm just not ready to get into that yet.

"I honestly didn't think you was coming. Thought you changed your mind." She spoke.

"I apologize about last time. Something had came up last minute. But I'm here now, for the holidays."

"You staying for the rest of the year?" She asked getting up and walking to the stove. She opened the oven and the aroma from the pot roast hit me.

"Yeah. Spend time with y'all. And Nae graduating soon and I wanted to be here for that."

"Yeah all my babies getting old on me." She said sitting back down. "Felt like yesterday I was spanking you for sticking that bubblegum all in her hair on picture day."

I busted out laughing, remembering. I remember that day very well, she stopped talking to me for like a week and she broke my DS in half and left it on my pillow for me to see.

"Yeah speaking of Nae, where she at?" I asked and she pointed upstairs.

"She should be upstairs with Chrissy and them." She said and I see them walking down the stairs.

"Mama, is the food done yet?" Chilli said walking into the kitchen with Chrissy behind her.

She still a freeloader.

"Naw, not yet. Where Ranae at?" My mama asked them. They both shrugged and I smacked my lips.

"I thought she was down here." Chilli said pulling out her phone. "Want me to call her?"

"Mhmm." I said staring at them. I know they was lying for her, they always did. Pops said he picked her up when he called to see where I was at. So either she was up there or she left back out and I know she not the type to sneak out.

My pops walked into the kitchen and went to the stove checking the pots and she smacked his hands away.

"Damn, I can't look at the food?"

"You said you picked up Nae right?" I asked him.

"Yeah, she probably in her room mad, hiding out." He said and I knitted my brows together.

"Mad for what? And they said she wasn't up there. They thought she might have been down here." Mama said and he sighed.

"I know her fast ass didn't run back out this house." He said pulling out his phone.

I was lost as hell to everything and I needed to catch up. Nae was his little princess and spoiled by him so hearing him say that was crazy.

"She probably went for a walk to cool down." Mama said.

"Well she about to walk her ass back in this house." He said putting his phone to his ear. "She not gone answer for me. You call her and give me the phone." He said to Chilli and she got this caught look on her face.

She dialed her number then passed him the phone. He put it on speaker and we could hear it ringing. On the third ring she answered and her voice came through the phone.

"Hello?"

"Bring yo ass back into this house Ranae." He said.

"Okay." She simply said and the line clicked off. It was awkward ass silence. He walked out onto the back porch with my unc, the girls went back upstairs, and my mom got up and checked the food.

I got up and walked out the kitchen to the living room. I sat down on the couch and turned to Martin. I wasn't really paying attention to it. I was thinking about how I missed out on a lot of shit. Nae was never the type to sneak out and do crazy shit so all this is shocking and new to me.

And I realized she's not little no more. My baby twin siblings too. I hope she not avoiding me cause that's what I feel like she's doing.

"Hey babe." Tati greeted, putting her leg over mine and looping her arm around mine. I gently removed her limbs from around me and she sucked her teeth.

I continued watching tv, ignoring her as she tried to get my attention. I can hear she was getting pissed off from her huffing and puffing.

"You really going to ignore me?" She said waving her hand in my face." I hope your not stilled pissed about last night. Cameron?" She angrily grabbed my chin trying to make me look at her.

I grabbed her wrist, pushing her hand away. "Stop touching me." I said aggravated.

"Oh my god. Fine. Whatever. Can we go now? I'm hungry." She said.

"YOU can go wherever you wanna go. I'm here for my family, I told you."

"Alright fine. Where are the keys?" She asked holding out her hand. I looked at it then back at her and shrugged.

She already know she not driving my shit. The last time I let her drive my shit she drove and crashed into a wall. So that shit dead.

"You know what? Fuck You Cameron. If I was Melanie you would do it." She mumbled.

"At least you know."
