31st October

Today was a day Frank would never forget. Today was the day where the young boy would graduate from the hell he called private school. It was also the day he turned 18. Finally, being legal to be intimate with anyone older than him without worrying about the law. He couldn't wait to walk out on stage with Ray and get rewarded a certificate for passing through high school alive.

He woke up to the sun beaming through his window. He groaned once he heard the birds chirping together like a perfect choir outside. He heard the door creak open as he saw his mother walk in with a vanilla cake in their hands, covered in white icing along with eighteen lit birthday candles surrounding it.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you...." She trailed off, receiving another groan from Frank as he shifted in his bed, giggling when she messed up some of the words in the simple song. Once she finished and cheered, he blew out the candles, smiling.

"Thanks, mom" Frank said, his morning voice definitely present. "Happy birthday, Frankie. I can't believe you're eighteen already" His mother almost started tearing up. "You're getting older now so that means..."

"That I have to be more responsible. I know. You tell me that every birthday" Frank chuckled as his mother ruffled up his messy hair. "Now get ready. We have to go take that ankle monitor off you the head for your graduation" His mother excitedly said, almost dropping the small cake on the floor.

Gerard woke up, feeling the cold breeze coming through from his window, brushing his skin. "Frank's eighteen... Frank's fuckin' eighteen!" Gerard said, a wide smile on his face as he got out of bed. He immediately got up, jumping around his room when he looked down at his ankle and realised the huge ankle monitor that scratched his skin. He glanced at the clock, seeing that it was eight in the morning. "Two more hours" he smirked to himself and cheered yet again.

He quickly ran over to the bathroom and took a shower. Once he was clean, he wore black skinny jeans which hugged his legs perfectly along with a black sweater and a leather jacket. He didn't feel the need to be fancy. Hell, they won't even let him see Frank graduate. He became a threat to the school now.

Once everything was on his body, he wore black shoes. He looked at himself in the mirror, running a hand through his newly red hair before decided that he looked good enough to leave.

Frank looked in the mirror, fixing his tie as he listened to Queen in the background. He had fifteen more minutes until he had to leave to the school. He looked down at his dresser, noticing a picture frame stood up next to his phone. It was a picture of him. Of Gerard. The guy who he dragged into all of this shit. It was a picture of both of them, laying on Gerard's bed as Frank smiled into the camera while the older boy kissed his cheek.

He gulped, remembering how that time played out in the photo. How Gerard was camera shy and didn't want to be photographed so he just decided to kiss him to hide some of his face. It was a running theme in the photos they took together.

"I love you..." frank whispered to himself as he traced a finger on the image of the older man. He missed him. So fucking much.

"Are you ready?" His mother walked in the room, all made up with pounds of makeup on her face and too much jewellery around her neck and wrists. Frank turned to her and her heart melted. She was tearing up to just the sight of her son.

"You look so handsome..." She said, covering her lipstick covered mouth with her hand. Frank half smiled as his mother walked up to him, cupping his cheeks. "At least most of the swelling went down" She said, tilting her son's face to see the bruises that were once printed on his skin from the fight with Ray. "Yeah, my lip's still not healed yet" He said, his mother still seeing a scar on his bottom lip. "It's doesn't really show. Anyway, lets get that thing off you" She smiled, looking down at the ankle monitor.

"Hello mothers and fathers of this year's graduated students. Today is a very special day for the kids themselves and for us. We're definitely going to miss them. Their graduation shows that if you work hard and follow your dreams, anything's possible. And now, we want to present the graduates of this year" Mr. Adams finished his sentence before the curtain opened.

Frank searched in the audience for a sign of Gerard or even the woman who birthed him. Thankfully, he did find his mother sat in the middle row, tissues filling up her hands. He searched further, still not finding a sign of the ex-teacher.

Once the ceremony ended, the parents and teachers were in the school's gym where they got served snacks and had drinks together. The students changed and had a small party in one of their classrooms before heading home with their parents. "See ya, Ray" Frank hugged the boy with huge Afro, patting his back. "See you, dude. Text me when you get home" Ray smiled, waving as he left with his parents. "Ready to go, Frankie?" Frank's mother smiled widely as the boy himself nodded. They walked out into the parking lot, scanning for their car.

Frank looked up and saw a black car with a man wearing a black leather jacket resting against it.

"Gerard?!"
