Thranduil's POV

I looked at my son and his mother sleeping soundly on the bed. I keep on looking for this may be the last time for me to see them.

War is like walking on a barren land. No ones sure if you'll come back alive and well or you will be buried in it forever. Taking chances to be with the ones you love is the last thing a soldier can do. I can actually ask my generals to go to war without me but I am not coward to let that happen. Never would I abandon my people in times like this. After this war, I swear I would never go to war again.

I get up from the bed and went near them to give them a kiss goodbye. After I kissed them, I went out silently and praying to the Valars that my son and his mother would be in good condition even if I'm not around.

After he servants and my soldiers got what they needed, we went out from the gate already.

Someone's POV

After the soldiers prepared what they needed, we start to leave Mirkwood now. Even though I trusted Lady Gwendoin in taking good care of the child, I am still thinking about it. His mother is really dangerous.

After one day and night trip from Mirkwood to Rivendell, we already arrived. I secretly went to Lord Elrond's library.

"How's it going? Are they really too strong, My Lord?" I asked Lord Elrond already as I entered the library.

"Yes they are."  I heard him sigh as he said those words.  "When would this world be in peace? I wonder if there would be peace and harmony for all." He said. I just sat in front of him and watching his every action as he speak.

"I wish that there's peace too. War is part of the life of every person, you know?  People can't live with just goodness in their hearts. There will always evil in them. Even a very kind and very generous person you thought that can't do evil things can actually do it. Goodness and evilness in every person is inseparable. They'll always go together and  as long as there's evil, there will always  war.  I wish that the effort of the people will bear good fruit. At least peace after this war would be long for the children of today can live happily even just in short time." I said to him. He just smiled at me and began turn his back on me to look at the moon in the sky.

"How about Thranduil's child? Is he well? You're here, yet, the child is with his mother. You know it is dangerous. I don't want to stay in Thranduil's place anymore since Eluriel came. I sense something wrong. I hope your watching him very carefully." He said while he's  still looking at the clear sky.

"He is well, My Lord. I asked the head of the healers to look for the child while I am away." I said an began to stand from my seat.

"I think I have to go, My Lord. They might looking for me." I said and went out of the room not waiting for him to answer.

As I get there,  my thought's right. They're looking  one of the soldiers. I stood there and told them that I just went to ask for water in the kitchen.

The soldiers of Mirkwood and Rivendell treat each other as brothers and so, it is natural for soldiers of Mirkwood  to ask water or food to the people of Rivendell.

(A/N : Don't you think that's kinda  embarrassing? That's being shameless I think. Haha... Anyway, let's continue.)

After the "head counting" we   all take our rest. Preparing for war. Also, preparing for ourselves for whatever decision they would take tomorrow but I am sure, it is on war.
