On Your Side (Thranduil Fanfiction-- The Hobbit & The Lord Of The Rings) Part 1

Encountering the Lady of Light

When we arrived, I ask a maid to get us food. After that some guards came to get the visitors' things and put them to their respective rooms. We are still talking and making stories with each other when a maid came and tell me that the food in the dining hall is waiting for us. I thanked her and told everybody that food is waiting for us in the Dining Hall.

After our dinner, they excused themselves to go to their rooms and have some rest. Of course, we let them be. It's only me and Thranduil are the one left  to the room and we decided to go to the open place in the palace aside from the garden which is just outside my room. It is like a large window but no glass. I love it because it is where I hang out every time I am bored and Thranduil's doing his work. You can see the whole scenery or view of the kingdom from here.

"I like Lord Elrond, Thranduil. He's different." I said looking at the full moon in the night sky with him behind me. I heard him  groan. What's happening to this guy? I look at him and I saw a sad face.

"What's up with that sad face of yours, Thranduil? Are you well? Tell me?" I said as I began to panic. Maybe he's sick or something.

"I am alright, thank you." He said and look away.

"Thranduil, what is it?" I ask and force him to look at me.

"Nothing... It is just that,  its as if  you are saying that you are leaving me already." He said. He is facing me right now but he's looking at different direction.  I chuckle when he said that.

"Are you thinking that I will go with Elrond and be his wife, is it?" I said smiling. He just smile sadly and nods.

"Thranduil, Darling... I will not do that. I was not meant to be his wife. Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn's child, is the girl that's meant to be his wife, not me... One more thing, I promised you I will not leave you... I meant  it Even if I will die of old age here, my Darling, I won't leave you." I said and smile at him. He returns a smile and hugs me.

"You know  that I know  you will not leave me but at  a second thought, it seems like I am hindering you to live your own life. I am foolish ... I don't want that to happen." He said still hugging me.

"You're not foolish, Thranduil. You just don't want to be alone and I am offering my service to you. I am not staying because you want me to - I am staying because I love you, Thranduil. You are my only family here. I won't leave you." I said returning a hug.

I meant it when I told him that.  But I cannot really promise him that I will stay here for too long. Its not that I am saying that I am dying or something but I observe that he's becoming dependent to me. How can he work and live life without me. I don't know what to do every time I think of him.

We separate ways with me still thinking about him. He won't marry anyone because he said that me - his friend is enough company to help him do his job as the king since all he needs is a friend and someone he may call his family. I won't let him do that. This is the reason why people are saying that we are married but we just don't let others know which is actually a bluff. We didn't do anything and  we never lied to anyone.

I began to sit on the edge of the place where me and Thranduil are a while ago. I am thinking of plan or anything that I will do to make Thranduil's mind and do what he needed to do.

"I see you got a huge problem, Queen Jannidriel of Mirkwood." Lady Galadriel said. I looked at her surprised.

"Oh, you're there my Lady. Since when are you there?" I ask her. She only smiles at me. She didn't answer me. Instead, she told me what I am thinking right now.

"H-how'd you know what I am thinking?" I said. She looked me with expressionless face again.

"I can read it from your eyes and I want to help you with that problem , my lady... Or not." she said and sit beside me. 

"You really think of him as a member of a family. You really got a good heart... People of Middle- earth  thinks that I am the powerful person in this world... But they're wrong. There is someone that is more powerful than I." She said with her elvish and kinda English accent.

"Who's that?" I said. I am curious who's that person.

"You... You are the most powerful person in this world now. It is the reason why the spiders that coming from Dol Goldor cannot come into your forests ... They cannot endure the power within you. You are so powerful." She said. I just laugh when she said those words. Who in the world would say such a thing? It is impossible!

"How'd you say so? I am just a simple human being, my Lady Galadriel... Nothing more than that." I said and smile. She smile to me too and sit beside me.

"Then how do you call a WOMAN who's age is more than 300 years old? It is impossible for a human to live that long , my lady." She said. I looked at her with question in my eyes.

There are many questions in my life today that I want to be answered. I am thinking that this lady  beside me can help me answer those questions. She was known to be one  of the wisest  person in this world. I heard many words about her.

"I do not know, Lady Galadriel... You know, I must be 6 feet below the ground by now... I do not know what happened and understand why I came back to life again and worst, live this long." I said looking at the vast darkness outside.

"The Valars chose you to be our guardian ... To be someone who can defend us against the evil in this world. You may think that we- elves are powerful for we have our abilities and everything that humans  believed that we had but truth of that is that, we are just like others. We have weaknesses and we have strength and the worst, we can be tempted." She said looking at me seriously. I smile at her and look at her in the eyes.

"Tell me what I have to do then..." I said looking at her still. She look very surprise when I said those words.

"Someone told me that too." I continued and smile.

"But I think they are just mistaken with that. A single human like you will never lead us. Humans are filthy and stupid." She said and look at me with disgust. I can't blame her with that.

"I know... But I am hoping I can. I live here for almost 300 years... And I don't want anyone will die just because I did not do my job." I said and look at her with a smile on my face.

"... I know you disgust me, but I hope one day you will learn to respect me..." I said and stood up. I held my hand to her to help her get up but she just look at it and look away again so I decided to go to my room now and have some sleep.

I am hoping that me and Galadriel will be in good terms someday... I am really hoping and wishing that day would come....
