The Danger In Leaving

"Thank you all for being here today. I'd like to start by thanking the people who helped put this celebration together"

People clap before he continues.

"Before we continue with the tree lighting I'd like to remember those of who we lost in the war. All those brave people watching over us. My wife and your queen was one of the few who died during the war. She was a strong woman who stopped at nothing to make sure her family and people were safe. She risked her life for those people and I know she doesn't regret it. She would be proud to know we're here today."

There's more cheers as he looks back at us.

"She would be overjoyed to know her children are happy and finding the people they love to spend the rest of their lives with."

He smiles and looks back at the crowd.

"I know she's out there somewhere looking down on us. Probably impatiently waiting for her first grandchild to get here already."

The crowd laughs and Allura visibly rolls her eyes.

"So, we are going to hang the final bulb before the tree lighting can commence."

The crowd cheers as he's given a small box. He opens it and pulls out a beautiful ornament.

"In memory of your queen and all those who have fallen to get us where we are today!"

I run into the castle and almost run into Anora's older brother.

"Woah!"

The wolf beside him growls softly.

"Grayden?"

"Lotor is planning something!"

"What?"

"He's here!"

"Grayden, Lotor was killed a year ago."

"I know!"

I huff angrily.

"He came back! He threatened to hurt Anora if I didn't help him so I did and he did something to the tree!"

"The tree?"

"He told me he was going to get revenge!"

Lance visibly pales and the wolf beside him let's out a loud bark.

"Do you know where he is?"

"No."

"We have to go."

"Do you know what he's going to do?"

I ask while following after him.

"He's going to get revenge."

"How?"

"Didn't you hear what happend the first time?"

"Kind of."

"He's going to take Keith."

"Why?"

"Because he wants to get back at me. Last time he did that Keith almost died. If we don't stop him this time I don't know what could happen."

"What if he gets him?"

"I really don't want to think about that right now."

"Sorry."

He shakes his head.
"Thanks for telling me."

"Your welcome."

We continue walking when there's suddenly a loud bang.

"Shit."

We break out into a run but when we get there people are running everywhere.

"Grab on."

"What?"

I turn to see the wolf glowing.

"Kosmo wants to teleport us."

Everything flashes before we're on the stage. It's clearer up here and I let go of the soft fur to look around. I spot my sister Anora and when she sees us she runs over.

"Lotor's back!"

"I know, where is Keith?"

"He- he took him."

"Dammit!"

"Go. I can handle the people."

"Where's Allura?"

Anora sighs and her shoulders droop.

"She went into labor."

"You're joking."

"I'm not. Shiro and father had to rush her out."

"For the love of Voltron."

I turn and jump when I see Kosmo standing behind me. His eyes are watchful and a low growl rumbles out.

"Kosmo."

He glances at me but his growl doesn't cease.

"Can you find Keith?"

His ears perk up at the name and his growl is replaced with a whine.

"I need you to go to him. Okay? Go find Keith."

His tail twitches and in a flash he's gone.

"Weren't you supposed to go with him?"

Anora questions.

"He cares more about Keith than me."

I reply before turning.

"Good luck!"

Anora calls after me.
