dirty content towards the end ;)"I already told you! You're not missing your tutor lessons!" Dad scoffed. "Definitely not."
I looked down. "I was the one that bought her the tickets in the first place, dad." I try to convince him once again. "I've never been to the beach and I was excited to go."
Dad breathed heavily in his office, his glasses over his nose and his tie strangely loose underneath his collar. "I said no."
"Okay. But grandpa George would've wanted me to go." I swallow hard, looking at him straight in the eye for the first time.
He stopped typing on his laptop when I finished my sentence. He didn't bring up his gaze to me. He licked his dry lips and, suddenly, I felt bad for bringing up grandpa in the conversation.
Dad now was sad. The same sad blue eyes I used to have before I met Damian.
He looked at me. "I don't want you to go. You, Damian, Larissa and her boyfriend? What are you four going to do in Australia for two weeks?! I can't risk you coming home pregnant!"
My mouth hang open. "Is that what you think of Damian, dad?"
He rubbed his own eyes after taking off his glasses. "The boy is young and handsome. He likes you, I can see that. But he's trouble. I don't want you going to Australia with him and then having a teenager crisis and staying there with him for the rest of your life. I can't risk it."
I shake my head. "You're over exaggerating. It's a vacation. Only two weeks. Why would I have a teenager crisis?"
"Because you're young!" He raised his voice. "You're starting to see things differently. You've changed from the last time I saw you! That boy changed you. I don't know what you're capable of, now, Quinn, I really don't!"
I felt sad.
"Well, I'm not gonna run away and leave you!" I shouted. "I'm not gonna leave you for two months, like you and mom did to me, okay? It's two weeks! You left me for two months!"
Dad stood up from his chair.
"Fine, Quinn. Do whatever you want. Go to Australia. Go to Japan, then fly to Europe. Do whatever you want! But don't come back crying to Seattle when you have a baby in your belly and no boyfriend to take care of you."
"I'm not gonna get pregnant!" I shouted, deepening my nails into my palms. "Why are you making this such a big deal! I'll be back!"
"Because that's what happened to your mom!" He shouted back. "And she left with me, and now look how my situation with your grandparents are! They don't like us! Don't make me not like you."
I felt my throat burning with the tears sitting on my eyeballs. "I'm not gonna get pregnant at seventeen, dad. I won't." I lowered my voice. "I just wanted to go to a place I've never been before with a few people that I enjoy spending my time with. But if you don't want me to go because you don't trust me, not because it's dangerous to go to another continent without adults, then that's a different story." I tell him, dead in the eye. "What happened to you and mom is something else, I'm not like you two." I spin around and walk out of his office, closing the door harshly behind myself.
