Chapter 30 | the end" goodbye...?
Oh, no, please. Can't we go back
to page one and do it all over again? "L U X U R Y
Eleven days had passed, and me and Damian were having the time of our lives.
We went to the beach every day, and every night we spent dancing at the karaoke me and Damian had found. Larissa once got a little bit dunk and actually sang 'What makes you beautiful' by one direction in front of everyone.
No one really enjoyed her performance, and after she was done, Jonas and Damian pretended they didn't know her, which made her angry.
"Yes, you do!" She started shouting. "You're my boyfriend!"
"You wish, baby!" Jonas faked an Australian accent. "I've already got my bird."
"That's British, you dumb fuck." Damian started laughing.
Jonas swore under his breath. "I've already got a girl, girl."
"Jony, stop playing!" Larissa almost started crying, bawling her hands into fists.
Jonas chuckled, suddenly pulling her in for a hug. Wait, was she crying? Alcohol really affected Larissa. On that same night, tipsyly, she pulled me to the side to ask me why I was being "off" with her.
At first I had no clue of what she was talking about, but then I realized that really, I was barely spending my time with her. I was always with Damian and Jonas, either swimming at the beach, or even learning to play volleyball. Damian rented a surf board for one day and we had the best time.
I don't think I've ever had so much fun in my life until that day.
Or when Jonas faked drowning in the sea, I swear all the color in Damian's face vanished when he hadn't come up in the water for minutes. I still don't knew how he did that.
The hotel we stayed in had a pool. Sometimes in the morning we'd go there just to get accustomed to the cold water, then walked down the stairs and walked straight into the sand, feeling it burn the palm of our feet.
We tried water straight from the coconut with a straw, which was absolutely delicious, then we ate the coconut inside the green skin which was also really good.
One day we built sand castles. We stayed out for hours, Larissa bringing us drinks or food once in a while but she never joined the game, which was who could build the biggest pyramid of sand cylinder. We basically bought plastic cups and filled them with wet sand, stacking one sand cup next to the other to form a huge pyramid. It wasn't easy, since the sun kept on drying out the water really quickly, or when one of the sand cups got destroyed we had to restart.
I won, which was also great.
We saw a shark, which made me or Jonas not want to jump in the water ever again, but we did anyway. It was tiny, about the size of my two hands in front of the other but still. Or fish. We saw a variety of fishes, even a clown one.
But Larissa was always somewhere without any shade trying to get some color on her body, and I was never with her. We talked to each other only a few times per day, so now that I had put myself in her shoes, I understood what she wanted me to explain.
She would probably not even remember any of this in the morning anyway.
"I don't want you eavesdropping on me and Damian. Ever." I said to her in a firm voice. "What you did was disrespectful, and I told him about it–"
