Briar POV

Next minute, Dylan Ratzlaff walks over to me with her gang of bitchy girls behind her. She snatches the letter out of my hand and starts reading over it. I was to embarrassed to even try and grab my pathetic love letter back.

"Ugh what a loser." Dylan laughs. "She doesn't even know how to spell hahaha."

Everyone in the cafeteria laughed at me. All I wanted to do was fall on my knees and burst into tears. Why did I have to write that stupid love letter?

"Oi give it back." Lamar shouts at Dylan trying to snatch the paper back, unsuccessfully.

"Its okay Lamar." I tell him. "We should go now."

I walk out of the cafeteria, Vic and Lamar following closely behind me. I walked to a hidden spot in behind a tree on the field and tears began streaming down my face. Vic wraps her arms around me and Lamar puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"I can't believe he did that to you! He is such a jerk." Lamar says in disbelief. "If I ever see him again I ... "

"Lamar no, its okay." I stop him before anything gets out of hand. "It was dumb of me to even think I had a chance with someone like Myles Erlick."

"Babe don't worry about this." Vic tells me. "Everything happens for a reason. Besides, Myles clearly isn't worth it."

"Yeah, but now everyone knows me as Briar Nolet, the girl who wrote Myles Erlick a love letter. I hate myself." I sob into Vic's shoulder.
