Part 57

Myles POV

At break time, Briar and I head to the old run down bathroom that no one ever uses. Its at the furthest point of the school; away from other building and people. Everyone else is already there.

"So can someone please tell us whats going on?" Briar and I say in unison.

"We've been banned from talking to each other." Dylan rolls her eyes, she is clearly not happy about it.

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Briar shouts not happy either. "Why?"

"After the accident we did some bad shit." Isaac tells us.

"Okay ... what happened?" Briar says, impatiently.

"Well, at school the day after the accident we were all in the cafeteria and Samantha and Logan were talking shit about Myles; she said that she hoped you died and that Briar deserved to go through all that pain. So Vic, Britt, Alex and I beat her up." Dylan says, guiltily. "And then the next day we all ditched school together because we didn't want to put up with the shit talk everyone was saying about you guys and us, but the principle caught us at the park. We were given an in-school stand down but we just made it hell for the teacher that was meant to be looking after us; in fact he was fired after what we made him confess too."

"We were angry and scared that you weren't going to make it." Alex adds. "Not to mention that we weren't even aloud to visit you in hospital."

"Wait, what'd you make the teacher admit to?" Briar asks curiously.

"We bullied him into saying that he had an affair with a student." Britt says. "With that bitch girl we beat up, Samantha Grecchi. We didn't realise he was going to admit it the moment the principle walked in the room."

"Harsh." I say. "But also disgusting."

"And when the teacher was talking to the principle outside," Vic glances around the room. "We trashed the place. We drew all over the walls and broke everything that we could, smashed the computers. We were all suspended for two weeks; we only came back to school yesterday but our parents and teachers have made us stay away from each other."

"You are all idiots." I say, plainly. "Why would you do that?"

"We made some shitty decisions but I don't regret it." Vic says and the others all agree with her.

"Why not?" Briar asks. "You should regret it. You did all of this just because you were scared that Myles wasn't going to make it. None of this was the schools fault. You should've been finding a way to get to Myles and see him in hospital instead."

"We know that." Alex says.

"Then maybe you all should go and apologise so that we can talk to each other again." I suggest. "Even if you don't mean it."

"Not gonna happen." Vic shakes her head as does Dylan.

"Fine." I sigh. "But until you all grow up and just apologise then I guess we won't be spending any time together anymore."

We all leave and go back to the cafeteria, sitting in different places away from one another. I'm pretty mad that they won't apologise; its pathetic. I can tell that Briar feels the same way as I do.
