Nobody does it like you - Selena Gomez

-Joey's POV

The rest of the afternoon went on pretty smoothly after my encounter with.. Abigail. I finally knew her name.

At the end of the day, I walked back to the parking lot where Britney was already standing beside my car.

-Britney's POV

I grinned as Joey made his way towards me across the lot. We haven't had a second to ourselves since the accident but this was going to change soon.

"Hi sweetheart," I kissed him on his cheeks. "How was your day?"

"Quite eventful I must say!" he replied. He seems to be thinking about something..

"Oh.. and what happened as such?" I ask as an attempt to make conversation.

"Well, actually I met a-" he began but was cut off by Nate's voice. Will we ever have some time alone?

"Yo guys! Wait for me!" he yelled while running to join us. Joey seemed lost and confused.. but cuter than ever.

"Who is it?" he asked me as Nate was a couple of metres away.

"He's Nate Mitchelle.. your bestfriend since kindergarden," I told him.

"That's right! Nice to see you again man, we were worried for you," Nate speaks up before Joey. He then put his hand forward and Joey shook it lightly. I guess it's a boy thing..

"Don't be, I'm totally fine.. except for the memory part," Joey said reassuringly.

"I'm sure it'll come back soon.. it has to," Nate stated confidently. "So what are your plans?"

"I was wondering that we could go and grab an icecream at-" I began to offer but Joey cut me.

"Sorry.. I'm a little tired. Maybe another time soon?" he asked. I was disappointed that he didn't want to spend time with me but then I realised that his condition could get worse if I insist.

"It's fine. We understand.. Come on, I'll take you home and then you can get some rest," I offered.

After saying goodbye to Nate and promising to meet him tomorrow, I drive Joey back. He doesn't seem very talkative.. but then, he's changed a lot since that dreadful night. I wish that I hadn't tempted him to leave the party.. it's all my fault. As I felt that guilty pang in my stomach Joey spoke up.

"Are you alright?" he asked in his sweetest voice. "Why are your eyes moist?" I hadn't realized that they were.

At that moment, I was in a dilemma. If I told him that I was responsible for his present condition, he would hate me.. I can't bear his hatred.

"Actually I.. I was just thinking about our past happy moments together," I lie.

"Ah okay.. Well don't think about it while driving please. I've had enough accident experiences for this lifetime!" he smirks. I fake a laugh so as to lighten the atmosphere.

"You're right.. I completely agree. Here we are to your palace, my majesty!" I said dramatically as I pulled up in front of the mansion. He laughed at my overeaction.. That's a sound that I missed a lot.

"Thanks a lot Britney." I love the way my name rolls off his tongue.

After he got out, his driver drove me back home while I wondered whether I made a mistake to lie..

-Joey's POV

As soon as I got home, I walked straight to my room and threw myself onto the bed. It had been a really long day and I was tired. I closed my eyes enjoying the peaceful and relaxing silence broken only by my breathing and gusts of winds outside my open window.

"Joey! Are you home?" Dad yelled from downstairs. "Come and have dinner son!"

I then realized that I was actually very hungry as I didn't had lunch. I was busy exploring the music department and discovering weird secrets..

"Coming!" I yelled back as I quickly changed in pants and a sweater.

Dinner was absolutely delicious. It was my first real family meal at this house of mine. The eating room was rather impressive with its creme coloured walls, candle lamps and the big eating table which could accommodate at least 8 to 10 people.

"Is everything.. fine at school?" Dad asked between two mouthfulls.

"We could say that. I've got nice friends," I replied cautiously.

"It's great to know."

"Have you met Nate?" Katie chirped in from beside me. There was a strange curiosity in her voice..

"Yeah but just for a few minutes."

"He's your bestfriend.. you should hang out with him more often. That would help you," she said caringly.

"Hmm.. I'll see to it." I said before focusing my plate.

"I've got an idea! Why don't you organise a party this weekend?" Mom proposed. "You could then meet more people of your peer groups."
