Good girls go bad - Cobra starship, Leighton Meester

"So what did I miss in class?" Abby asked with a rather nervous smile. Her face was really close to mine and I think I almost saw a blush.
"Mr Smith and the guy at the back of the class arguing over the story of Wuthering Heights," I laughed softly at the memory. "The guy even compared Heathcliff to Cinderella when he was asked to give a summary!" We both laughed as Britney tightened her grip on my arm.
"I would compare him rather to the Prince Charming," Abby said while laughing.
"He's anything but a prince Abby," I remarked.
"Because he works as a servant? It's not the wealth that makes someone a prince," Abby argued back. I could see that she loved talking about books, as her eyes lit up.
"I agree. It depends on the boy's behaviour and Heathcliff really treats Cathy as his princess," Jenny took her friend's side.
"Are you two seriously discussing litterature characters in a restaurant?" Britney asked eyeing Abby and Jenny, incredulously.
"What can you expect from nerds?" Lucy snarled at Jenny.
"I-I.. I'll get you drinks," Jenny stammered, embarrassed, before running off to the kitchen.
"That's right.. Go and hide yourself between boring book pages," Lucy scoffed.
"Ahh these nerds.. can't even see past their hundred pages thick manuals," Britney added.
"The specific term is 'reading a book'. You should try it sometimes: it will help to increase your IQ which of the size of a rice grain," Abby retorted as calmly as she could, with the most sarcastic smile I've ever seen. Nate chuckled and I kicked him from under the table, trying to stifle my own laugh, while Lucy and Britney looked annoyed. Jenny returned with a tray of glasses.
"Here you go! Diet cokes and chips. Anything else?" she asked cautiously.
"That's perfect, thank you," Nate replied before our females could say something rude.
"It's getting late, I've to go," Abby said and got up. She hugged Jenny and turned around to face the table again. As her eyes met mine, she hesitated for a second or two, but then she leaned down and kissed me lightly on the cheek, barely touching it.
"Bye," she smiled at me, "Bye everyone," she added before walking away quickly. Britney choked on her drink and Jenny's eyes nearly popped out of her head. As for me.. I was dumbstruck. The girl who hated me until yesterday, just kissed me. Well, frankly, I don't really mind the kiss but.. it's quite astonishing. As I went over it, my phone buzzed, flashing my landline number.
"Hello?"
"Joey, where have you reached?" Dad asked from the other line.
"I'm at a deli with my friends. Why? What happened?"
"Oh son, you forgot? We've to meet your doctor today!"
"Damn, I'd forgotten about it completely! I'm coming in like fifteen minutes," I replied apologetically.
"Okay, drive safe." The call ended and I dashed towards the door after biding a quick goodbye.
Once outside, I realise that I walked here and my car was still at school. Holy shit! I'll have to walk back to school to take my car. As I started to walk quickly, I spotted a dark brown haired girl walking a bit ahead; Abby. I ran up to her and nudge her left shoulder. When she turned, I moved to her right so that she won't see me and cried gently in her ear to scare her.
