-Joey's POV

"A pool party? What's that?" I asked confusedly to a beaming Britney.

"A party beside a pool! Everyone will be in bikinis and shorts, there'll be cocktails, music, games, etc.. Come on, it'll be fun!" she tried to convince me to come.

"But why are you throwing a party? I mean, don't you have exams coming?" The only good thing about losing my memory is that I'm dismissed from exams!

"Exactly! Exams are coming and what could be more relaxing than a party during this period?"

"Okay okay.. How can I help?"

"How about you look after the catering?"

"Works for me! Just tell me what I've to do."

"And I'm in charge of decorations!" Lucy said excitedly.

"The music is on me," Nate declared.

"Fantastic! I'll do the invites and organise everything. Joey, here's the number of the restaurant and here's the menu list. You just have to call and place the order." She gave me two coloured paper and turned to give another set of instructions to Lucy. Superb.. I'm the proud organiser of the pool party of my girlfriend. How cool is that huh?

"Brit, what's the name of the restaurant?" I asked while studying my list of work.

"Oh honey, it's just a small family business. My mom knows them so she insisted that I order from there only," she explained briefly and turned back to Lucy. Before I could say anything more, the bell rang. Without bothering to interrupt their conversation, I walked away to litterature. As usual, Abby was already there, deep in thought.

"I'm quite sure you're thinking about me," I joked while taking a seat. The look on her face when we were on the floor is something that I won't forget anytime soon.

-Abby's POV

"Huh.. yeah right! As if I've nothing else to do. Anyways, did you think of something?" I asked, not wanting to talk about the floor incident.

"For what?"

"Duh.. for Jenny and Nate obviously."

"Yeah.. how about if we kind of force them to communicate to each other? Afterall, they haven't exchanged a word since that incident."

"And how are you gonna do that?" I asked thoughtfully.

"That still needs some thinking.. What if we lock them in the same room?" Now, that's what I call a filmy idea.

"In which movie did you see that?" I smirked.

"The one that I watched yesterday," he smiled playfully. "It really works, trust me!"

"Yeah right! And then Jenny and Nate will live happily ever after?" I mocked.

"Well, actually in the movie, the couple dies in the end."

"Cool.. I like sad endings."

"Are you kidding me? All girls like happy endings," he gasped.

"Most girls, not all. Sad endings feel more realistic because in real life, no one runs off on a white horse with a prince, towards the sunset," I scoffed.

"That's true but there are some people who do have a happy ending to their lives. They certainly don't own a white horse and a prince but they are happy."

"A person's ending is when he dies. Who do you think is happy when he dies?"

"It depends on how he's dying.." he argued.

"That's out of the context. Your idea of locking them is filmy but we can try," I ended the topic beacause it was going nowhere.

"So what's the next step partner?"

"Partner?"

"Yeah.. we are partners on a mission to reunite Jenny and Nate." Partners.. Why the hell am I even considering this possibility? Okay, I want to help Jenny but I can do this without his help, right? Right?

"I guess we are partners this time," I sighed. "Where are you going to lock them? In a classroom?"

"No, we don't have the classrooms' keys," he said while glancing at his copybook in which was tucked, two coloured papers. "I've an idea!" he exclaimed suddenly.

"Care to share?"

"Brit's having a pool party this weekend. Nate will be there and you can bring Jenny. We'll trap them there!"

"A party? You know how the last one ended.. And besides, I'm quite sure we are not on Britney's invites list." It might sound selfish but I just don't want to go to that party. These kind of social groupings are not for me.

"Don't worry. I'll take care of that. You just have to bring Jenny there, ok?"

"Joey.. I don't think-"

"Stop thinking! They are meant to be together and I need your help to do that."

"Okay.. I.. I'll try," I agreed reluctantly. Jenny deserves to be happy and maybe I could talk to Britney about the bet at the party..

"Great! And stop worrying about Brit-"

"Mr Mcwell and Miss Wood, I see that you've a lot to say. Would you like to continue the class in my place?" Mr Smith interrupted us. Shit.. When did he even come into the class?

"N-no Sir.." I replied while Joey simply stared down at his book. Come on Abby, you'll lose your nerd reputation if you continue like this! Focus girl!

"Then stop flirting in my class and concentrate!" Mr Smith snapped. Did I ever say that I liked Mr Smith's class? Well, fuck that! In that moment, I really wished that the earth would crack open and gobble me, taking me away from the forty pairs of eyes staring at me and Joey. The latter seemed unaffected by the words of Mr Smith. Obviously he must be used to it but for me, it's the first time that I'm being scolded like this by a teacher. God damn Mcwell! What have you done to my life?
