Rude - Magic

"So? Are you coming?" I asked Jenny again as she busied herself at the counter of Ellie's Deli. I know I could help her but I'm just feeling lazy today.
"To the party? Abby, I don't know. Exams are coming and-"
"You could come just for one hour!"
"But.. I'm not even invited!"
"Joey is inviting you." I never once imagined that one day, I'll be using Joey as an excuse.
"I thought you said that it was Britney's party?" she eyed me suspiciously. Why the hell did I say that?
"Yeah but.. it's Joey who is organising it. So basically it's his party too," I lied.
"Nate will be there?" she asked in almost a whisper.
"Jenny, you can't avoid him forever," I reasoned. "And it'll be a good opportunity to let go before exams."
"Let go!? Who are you and what have you done to Abby the nerd?" she accused playfully while pointing a fork at me. I simply smacked her arm and we both giggled like six year old kids. "No but seriously," she added when we stopped laughing, "You're telling me to let go when exams are round the corner? I guess it's Joey's influence.." she smirked oh-so-sweetly.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh nothing.." she said innocently while fidgeting with a pen.
"Jenny.." I warned her.
"Come on Abby! I'm not blind!"
"Jenny, you're-" I started to explain when the landline telephone cut me off.
"Hello?... Yes... Sure, tell me the address... Wha-... Um... Yeah ok... Thank-" She removed the phone from her ear and muttered, "you."
"What was that?" I raised an eyebrow as I didn't catch a single thing from this one-sided conversation.
"Um.. a.. home delivery order.." she answered while frowning at the scribbled address.
"So? What's wrong?" I questioned confusedly.
"It was Joey.."
"Jenny, what are you talking about?" I demanded confusedly.
"It was Joey who placed the order.. for Britney's party. He.. he behaved as if he didn't know me.." she explained again.
"What? Are you sure?"
"I heard Britney telling him to hurry up in the background and Joey nearly snapped at me. He just.. barked the order and hung up."
"But.. he.. I.." I was at a complete loss. What does this mean? He never mentioned to order from here.. And why was he so rude?
"Are you sure I'm invited? I mean, I'm providing the food so, I don't think I'm also on the invities list," she asked unsurely.
"I'll call Joey," I decided while scrolling through my phone.
"You've got his number?" she asked incredibly. I nodded calmly, ignoring her enthusiastic tone and put the phone against my ear.
"Switched off," I sighed.
"Let it be Abby.. Anyway, I had plans with Rick," she dimissed and went into the kitchen. Fantastic.. What do I now? I wonder what that moron of Joey is playing at..
-Britney's POV
"All set for tomorrow Lucy?" I asked her as we waited for Joey to get his car.
"Yes. I bribed the delivery boy. He promised to ditch tomorrow and Jenny will have to deliver the food herself," she said excitedly.
"And the waiters?"
"It's done, relax. But tell me, how did you manage to make Joey place the order without him even knowing who he's talking to?"
"Simple. When he made the call, I told him to hurry up because my mom was ill. That's why he's run off to fetch his car. He loves me so much!" I grinned devilishly. "He got so worried that he didn't even recognise Jenny's voice," I scoffed.
"And if Abby calls him?" Lucy asked.
"Then it'll be a waste of time because his phone has just been stolen. Guess who's the thief?" I smirked while waving an iPhone in front of her face.
"You're such a badass!" she laughed. "What if Abby shows up at the party?"
"Why do ask so many questions?" I groaned at my dumb friend. "She won't come. And if she does, we'll take care of her too. Two birds in one arrow!" I winked. "I'll fill so many misunderstandings between Joey and Abby that their hair will become white until they solve all of them," I promised to myself and Lucy. Just then, a loud car horn was heard. It was Joey. "Gotta go," I said to Lucy, "My sick mother is waiting for me," I added innocently.
"Brit, have you seen my phone?" Joey asked as I sat in the passenger seat.
"Yeah baby. It fell down when you rushed to fetch the car," I handed him the iPhone kindly. "And for your information, I've changed your SIM card," I added mentally. Now, he had a new number and the number of Abby which he had saved, is replaced by a fake one. Neither of them can contact each other!
"Thanks!" he smiled and turned the ignition key. His innocence is so cute! Especially since the accident.. I could bet he trusts me with his life. Everything would've been so perfect if Abby wasn't in the picture! The Wood sisters have an annoying habit of ruining things for me but as usual, I'll have the last word.
"You're most welcome. Come on now, my mom is waiting," I pulled on a worried face. I should really consider to have an actress career!
"Don't worry. She'll be fine," Joey squeezed my hand reassuringly.

That pool party is going to be so interesting!!
Brit has a huge grunt against Wood sisters.. but to know why, you'll have to be patient ;) But, you must admit that Brit is clever to change the SIM card.. and Joey is stupid for trusting her.
Thanks for reading, beautiful peeps :*
