Chapter 30

I think that this may actually be my longest Chapter yet. But it's also got to be the sweetest and most romantic! Like, seriously! I want Connor and Leilani's relationship! I'm so envious of Leilani right now.

Chapter 30: Promise Me (Pt 2)

I woke up the next day wrapped up in Connor's arms. I smiled up at his sleeping form. He was just so beautiful.

I reached up to brush some of his bangs out of his face and my fingers brushed his cheek as I brought my hand down. He stirred in his sleep, but didn't actually wake up.

I reached up and placed a kiss on his cheek and untangled myself from his arms successfully without waking Connor up.

I quietly grabbed an outfit to wear today and I snuck from my room so that I could change in my bathroom.

As I changed, I recollected on the events of the night before.

After Connor gave me the beautiful promise ring, we came back home. We went to his house first so he could get a change of clothes. Then he pulled into my driveway, right behind my truck, and we went inside.

We laid on my bed for the remainder of the afternoon, watching sappy romance chick flicks and the occasional comedy on Netflix. My parents knew he was over and they left us alone all day. They took care of Tucker, keeping him from my room so that Connor and I could have some peace together.

They only sent Tucker in my room when it was time for bed and Tucker laid at our feet while we cuddled together on my bed before we had fallen asleep in each others arms.

I smiled as the memories unfolded for me and I got dressed in a pair of boot cut Miss Me jeans, and my red Williston JROTC t-shirt with a pair of sandals.

I washed my face, and brushed my teeth and hair.

I stared at myself in the mirror and noticed that I was starting to look more well-rested and happy. I was smiling and laughing more. And that's been ever since I meet the brothers.

I love that I don't have nightmares when I'm with Connor. I'm not sure why I don't, but I'm not complaining. I've had good night sleeps every time I lay with Connor.

I left the bathroom and went back into my bedroom. I opened the door cautiously and poked my head in just in time to see Connor pulling a fresh shirt over his head bedhead. I bit my lip at the ten second glimpse of his bare chest that I had.

He hadn't noticed me yet, so I knocked lightly on the door. "Oh, you're awake," I said slightly.

"Yeah. Riley called to inform me of rehearsal today. Are you going to come watch? Rowan and Kendra are gonna be there," he said.

"I'll swing by later. I gotta do something today," I told him.

"Okay. I have to help my brothers set up the basement, so I'll see you soon?" he asked, wrapping me up in his arms. I placed my hands on his biceps and looked up at him.

"Of course you will. I'll be over in about two hours. It won't take me long to do what I need to do. I'll text you when I'm on my way home, because I'll be with my dad," I answered him with a smile.
