Jace
"Here we are," Magnus announces with shirts in his hands. I look at Clary to see her looking at the floor. What's wrong? I thought this would make her happy.
I slowly approach her concerned. "What's wrong Clary?" I ask gently.
"I don't want to waste your money," Clary mumbles. Why does she think so lowly of herself? I know we're not family, but when someone offers someone help in need, they don't usually fight the help.....
"Getting you clothes that you need isn't a waste of money, it's a good use of it," I counter.
"I'm just a random girl. Why do you care?" Clary asks curiously.
"My mom always taught her kids to help people. She says, 'Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.' When she told my dad she wanted to open a homeless shelter, he thought she was crazy. He told her she'd never make it. Then, he confessed he'd been cheating on her for years. Now, my dad is alone and single. My mom, however, is full of life and happy," I finish the story. "Now, let's find you some clothes." Clary nods with a small smile.
"Okay, I grabbed some of everything," Magnus announces. He sets them on a counter. Clary walks toward them.
"Don't worry about the price tags, okay," I comment. Clary nods, biting her lip. I watch as Clary and Izzy make a pile of clothes for Clary.
"How about this one?" Izzy asks holding up a yellow sweater.
"It's kind of....short," Clary mumbles.
"Come on Clary, lighten up," Izzy teases. I watch as Clary contemplates Izzy's words.
"Okay," Clary decides. Wow! Izzy got Clary to get something out of her comfort zone. It's not far, and I would've stopped her if I didn't think Clary could handle it, but nevertheless it was a baby step.
"I know of the perfect shirt for you biscut," Magnus announces. I'm still not sure why he calls her biscuit, but it doesn't seem to bother her, so I haven't questioned it too much.
Clary finds a something, but she's facing away from me, so I can't see it. "It's sexy," I hear Izzy comment.
"I....I don't know. I don't th-" Clary begins babbling.
"Let's get Jace's opinion," Izzy suggests.
"No," Clary firmly replies. "It's really short." I decide Clary might need some backup against Izzy this time. I walk towards them.
