Remus' eyes fluttered opened the next morning. They hadn't had time to bring clothes for him to change into but they always had a pair hidden in a tree. As he put on his clothes he began to find traces of blood on his body.
After having particular nasty transformation he sometimes had improved sense. He could smell it. He could smell Anna's blood.

He dashed to Anna's side and checked her for wounds, checked her pulse. Had he killed her? He was in a panic. He was about to pick her up and bring her to the house so he could properly treat her wound, when she stirred. She moaned, "Remmy, what's wrong?" He sighed in relief but his tone was soft and filled with guilt when he spoke, "I-I hurt you last night."

Anna's eyes widened and she sat up quickly, no long tired, "What?! No! Oh Remus, you poor thing! You must've been worried sick! Don't worry, you didn't hurt me. It was a regular wolf." Remus looked at the blood on his body. He realized that only a little was Anna's. He hadn't realized it because he was so focused on the possibility that he had attacked her. Most was a foreign wolf's blood. It must've clung to his fur.

He was broken out of his thoughts when he heard a hiss in pain, Anna was attempting to stand and walk. He rushed over to her, "Oh, no you don't! I am going to carry you to the house, take care of your wound the best I can, we'll both get cleaned and then we'll head to the train station." She groaned, "Remy! Put me down! I'm fine." He rolled his eyes and ignored her. Sometimes she was too stubborn for her own good.

Everything was ready for Hogwarts. They had two bags (the rest of their stuff had been sent ahead of time) ready to go, they were dressed and clean. There was only one problem. "I can't hop around on one foot the whole way and you can't carry me, you are too exhausted from last night! I'm honestly surprised you've done this much." He grinned, with only slight strain, "That's the magic of Coffee!" In the end, they decided that it would be easier if she just went in her fox form.

Really, she was a registered animagus. The other marauders hadn't gone through the trouble of being named official animagus wizards. She supposed she could go as a fox. She was going to change in class all the time. It was easier to walk with three legs instead of one and it was the only option.

So, Remus apparated with Red's tail wrapped around his leg.

-In the Hogwarts Express-
The passing students gaped as the furry red fox trotted carefully behind a sleepy Remus. The worn brunette man stumbled into the empty compartment and collapsed in the corner of the booth. Both of them were exhausted from last night. Anna tentatively hopped onto the set and curled up next to him.

He fell asleep and about ten minutes later the door slid open. Harry frowned, "Where's Anna?" He sat in the booth, Harry and Ron behind him. Anna immediately perked up and went to him. Harry laughed as he pet the fox. Hermione frowned, "Anna never said a word about having a fox." Anna, tired, decided that she would reveal her true form later. Instead, she got up and turned, intending to go lay back with Remus when Hermione gasped, "Guys, she's injured!" Ron grumbled, "Leave it alone Hermione. She doesn't need you fussing over her." Normally, Anna would disagree but she just wanted to rest. She jumped to Remus, curling up on his lap. She heard Hermione, "Aww!" In the distance.

The fox relaxed her body and ignored all life around her. Finally, she got some rest.

-Page Break-
In the mid-afternoon it began to rain. Harry was watching the landscape outside the droplet covered window when Draco Malfoy strolled into their compartment. Draco smirked, seeing that Harry's aunt was nowhere to be seen, "Well look who it is, Potty and Weasel. Where's that filthy-blooded aunt of yours?" Harry gritted his teeth and his hands turned into fist. Ron held him down and glared at the obnoxious blonde, "I'd watch your mouth if I were you, Malfoy. You see that guy over there? That's Anna's husband. The new co-Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He'd hex you to pieces if he heard you!"

Draco automatically too a step back and Harry had to force a laugh back down his throat. Anna scared and intimidate Draco, that's why he hated her, because she made him feel weak and puny. In his mind, a man who could handle her was a force worth reckoning with. And Draco should be worried. Ron hadn't been bluffing about Remus hexing him if he heard.

Draco chuckled nervously, "No way the mudblood's married. Who'd want her?" Remus turned in his sleep and Harry could've sworn he heard a growl. The Slytheirn must've heard it too because he left pretty quickly.
Ron snorted, "Coward."

The train jerked to a sudden stop and Anna's eyes snapped open. The lights went out and the fox whined in distress. The fox stood up her hind legs, nudging Remus' face with her wet nose, trying to get him to wake up. She silently sighed and changed into her human form, "Is everybody alright?"

Harry looked up in surprise, attempting to see through the darkness, "Anna? How'd you get here?" "I'll explain later. I need to check on the other students. Something's wrong but I don't want to leave you without adult supervision. Remus, wake up, love!" Suddenly, the compartment door opened, "Sorry-do you know what's going on?" Anna breathed in relief, "Neville?! Thank goodness you're alright! It's Me and my husband, Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Come over here and sit down." Soon Ginny came in as well. Everyone started talking at once and slightly panicking as Anna frantically tried to wake her husband. She was starting to feel kind if dizzy too.

As a last resort she kissed him and he jerked awake, "Quiet!" Everyone stopped when hey heard his hoarse voice. Remus and Anna took out their wands, using a spell to make them light up. Remus hugged her tightly around the waist. She was still sitting on his lap. He looked over her gently, "Are you alright, love?" He was glad he was here for her now when these things happened. She nodded. He returned his attention back to the group, "Everyone stay where you are!" Anna nodded, "We are going to find out what's going on. Stay away from the compartment door. No one leaves here, you stick together. If something dangerous comes in, I want you to blast it with everything you've got, you here me? Hermione, you are in charge."

They all agreed and Remus went for the door with Anna behind him. The dizzy feeling began to grow stronger but she reisisted. Before they could reach the door, it opened.

The room went cold and a feeling of dread filled the air. Anna felt her stomach drop and her knees buckle. She fell to the floor. Remus shouted for her and glared angrily at the cloaked figure, "We aren't hiding Sirius Black under our cloaks. Go or I'll have to use force." But it did not go. Remus growled, knowing the affect Dementors had on Anna. He muttered a spell and a silvery light left his wand. The dementor fled.

Remus instantly fell to his knees beside his wife, "Anne, are you okay?" She groaned. She hadn't passed out but she had been close. She felt weak and drained. The others watched as Remus gently put her in the corner where he had formerly sat. Hermione ad Ginny smiled as they watched how worried he was for her. But Remus knew he had to take care of the kids.

He went to his suit case, "Luckily, I always keep some chocolate with me." "Chocolate, sir?" Asked Hermione. He nodded and explained, "It helps after a run in with a dementor." He told Ron and Hermione to wake Harry while he tended to his fox. He gave Anna the chocolate and passed some to the others, before eating a chunk of his own. He sat down next to Anna and kissed her for head. He smiled and wrapped his arm around her, glad that, this time, he was here to protect her. The werewolf felt proud of himself for taking charge and protecting the kids.

No one would hurt the ones he loved.

AN: I hope you liked it! I kind of wanted to have Remus take charge in this chapter. The train scene is very important to me because it introduces Remus to the readers in the books and movies. I hope I didn't screw it up. I didn't have a lot if time to work in this. I've been swamped with homework and when I have free time I'm too exhausted to do any thinking. I've also been battling a lot of writers block. I hope this wasn't too terrible!
