Missing in Action
Chapter Five
Louis' P.O.V
I woke up to a ringing noise and the noise of something vibrating against a wooden surface. I poked my head out of the curtain on my bunk to look at the clock. It read 7:30 am. The noise was coming from one of the tables where we had plugged all of our phones into an extension cable to charge them. The problem was; we all had the same ring tone.
"Who's phone is ringing?" Liam asked poking his head out of his bunk.
"Can someone shut the phone up!" Niall exclaimed from the bunk below mine.
"What's going on?" Harry mumbled poking his head out of his bunk across from mine which was above Liam's.
"Someone's phone is ringing," Niall snapped.
"Guys, we really need to sort these ring tones out!" I exclaimed as I climbed out of bed.
As I walked past Zayn's bed which was the closest to the noise, I checked to see if he was asleep. I swore colourfully when I found that he was.
"Is he still asleep?" Liam asked and I nodded.
"He could sleep through the end of the world," Harry grumbled pulling his curtain back across sharply.
I walked over to the place where all five of our phones were. Mine was showing a picture of my mum and was slowly moving towards the end of the counter. I caught it just as it fell of the edge.
"Whose is it?" Niall called.
"Mine," I replied.
I brought the phone to my ear and answered it.
"Hi mum," I said.
"Hi Louis! You sound tired, did I wake you up?" she asked.
"No, it's fine you didn't wake me up," I lied.
"You woke half the f***ing world up," Niall hissed clearly failing to fall asleep again.
"So how are you?" I asked my mum ignoring Niall.
All five of us are not morning people. The day before when I'd tried to wake Zayn up, he'd hit me in the stomach and he didn't even remember doing it when he did get up.
"I'm great, just a bit stressed about everything," she sighed.
I heard Lottie in the background calling her and asking something about the internet followed by a faint "Louis is on the phone" which meant the whole family would be down in a minute.
"Will you stop stressing mum! Everything is going to be perfectly fine!" I exclaimed.
"How can you be sure Louis?" my mum asked.
"Because everything you organise is perfect," I stated firmly.
"Have you heard from Cassidy recently? I still don't know if she's coming or not," my mum said.
"No I haven't," I replied.
I hadn't heard from Cassidy since before we left, but that didn't surprise me. It was often months between two text messages when she was at work.
"She didn't accept being a bridesmaid," my mum said.
"I thought she wouldn't. I'm guessing she turned the offer down with something about not being there?" I said.
"Something like that," my mum sighed.
"I'm sure she's trying mum," I stated softly.
I really wanted Cassidy to be at the wedding. I wanted her to meet the lads again, to meet Eleanor, but it all depended on her work. It was always about her work. Half of the time, it felt like she wasn't the Cassidy Davis I grew up with, but someone entirely different.
