Chapter Twenty Two

Louis' P.O.V

My mum looked beautiful. Her eyes sparkled as she stood in the church surrounded by white flowers and pale blue ribbons.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!" the victor exclaimed.

It was a beautiful moment.

I smiled at Eleanor who was opposite me. I wanted that to be us someday.

I could picture Eleanor and I getting married someday. I would love it if it could be sometime soon.

We slowly exited the church and gathered outside the door. Everyone was wearing a wide range of colours and styles. It was like a fashion show.

However, I hadn't seen Cassidy at all. I hadn't see the Davis family enter the church so she could be with them, but I hadn't seen her car at their house this morning either.

I frowned slightly. If she had gotten home yesterday, she would have phoned. She had a habit of phoning me at all hours of the night sometimes. Maybe she had come home this morning.

She had to be here, right?

My thoughts stopped as everyone left the church. An awful lot of photos were being taken. The boys and I had insisted on paying for a professional photographer for the wedding, and for some reason, my mum hadn't objected.

After all of the photos had been taken, my mum, my new step-dad, Eleanor and I got into a gleaming white car.

My mum hadn't stopped smiling since this morning. It made me smile too.

We eventually arrived at the place where the reception was taking place. It was all so beautiful. There were tables dotted around all covered in white or blue table cloths.

We got out of the car. Most people were already here.

I spotted the boys immediately. They were sitting around a table on the first row from the top table. Zayn hadn't been able to make, but no one minded because he had gone away with Perrie. After all, they hadn't seen each other in months.

Eleanor wondered off after giving me a quick peck on the cheek. Everyone else was milling about, but I remained where I was.

I looked around, making sure someone with blonde hair wasn't Cassidy.

Someone stood beside me.

"She's not here," Jane said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Jane sighed deeply, then she shook her head.

"She still hasn't come home, she's not answered her work phone and her normal phone is off. I think that she might be under radio silence, but..." Jane explained.

"But you're not sure," I finished for her.

She sighed again. She wrung her hands as well.

We stayed silent for a moment. I never talked to Jane often anymore. I tried to avoid her because, every time I saw her, it made me think about her telling her daughter to never come home.

"I never wanted this," Jane mumbled.

"No, but she wanted to join the Navy, and there was nothing we could have done. But now she's out there somewhere, believing that her mother hates her," I snapped and then I walked off into the crowd of people.

I had good reason to snap at Jane. When I'd seen her, all I could see was Cassidy's face on the beach in Portsmouth.

I just don't know if I'm ready to go home yet.
