Missing in Action
Chapter Fourteen
Cassidy's P.O.V
We got to the flight deck early. Captain Johnson was stalking up and down and barking orders at people. We had been informed earlier that the Kite Squadron (or Reds)-a team a three that didn't like us- would be flying with us.
Captain Johnson walked towards us and signalled James to move to one side, but I could still hear them.
"Now, you are flying with the Reds so I want you team to behave," he said.
"We're not happy about this sir," James replied.
"I don't care James! They are the whole point of this tour!" the captain exclaimed.
"So why have you been sending us on all of the missions?" James demanded.
"We didn't put the alarm on for them James," the captain said.
"Unbelievable!" James exclaimed and he just walked away from the captain.
The captain looked irritated for a moment before he stalked back up the runway barking fresh orders.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," Ben said.
I smiled at James and gave a nod of respect when he re-joined us.
"Great! Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse," James muttered.
I looked up to see one of the Reds, Corporal Kerry Darlington, walking towards us.
She was the person that I had the most in common with in the Navy, but I hated her. She was your stereotypical b**** with bleached blonde hair. She had green eyes, and a complete stranger would think she was pretty. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
"Morning boys!" she chirped at James, Henry, Ben and Peter. As usual, she ignored me.
Did I forget to mention that the girl was a complete slut?
As she walked passed, she swayed her hips. I rolled my eyes.
"Could that girl get anymore revolting?" Ben asked.
"I'm just so glad that I won't be able to hear them over the radio," Henry said.
"It's alright for some!" James and I exclaimed at the same time.
James had to keep in contact with them at all times and I was the back-up contact. However, I was the second in command so I had to radio them every so often.
The alarm began blaring and we ran towards our planes. As usual, I was taking off first, but I wasn't allowed to take off until we were all in our planes.
"Remember we are here to outshine," Corporal Winter, Red 1, said to his team through the radio.
I almost gagged, but I smiled slightly. If they want to outshine us, then they were going to get outshone.
"Alright boys! Let's show these amateurs how to fly!" I exclaimed through my team radio.
"Speed is everything Falcon Two," James said.
And we had a plan. Our planes could go ten times faster than theirs without any effort at all, and James wanted us to spay the clouds in their faces.
"Copy that Falcon One!" I said.
I moved in position. Our planes looked so much more advanced next to the Kite Squadron.
James gave me a thumbs up. I smiled back.
