The house was finally up and running normally again. Bryce and I would still hang out in the mornings, afternoons Joey left to see his girlfriend and I'd stay and watch tv. By night time, we would all share the living room for a movie. It was like an algorithm.
"Chase" Bryce spoke from my door. "What?" I pulled my hoodie over my head. "There's blueberry pancakes out for breakfast if you want some" he smiled shorty.
"Bet" I say running into the kitchen. After last week, I'd used all my drug money and would have to steal which wasn't the part I worried so much about. I was worried about how sick I'd get without my drugs after the high of all of them hit my system.
Trying not to thing about it, I made my plate of breakfast and sat at the table with Joey and Bryce. We ate in silence until Bryce turned and made a face at me "Why the fuck are you laughing?"
I strung my eyebrows together and stared "I'm not laughing..." he looked at Joey, and Joey cut in "Dude yes you are" I only stared and continued to eat. It meant I was starting to feel the effects of my high, and I could easily tell bryce that. For Joey, that would be a different story.
"Anyway...I'm bringing eve over later on today. I was thinking we could all go out for brunch"
Instantly, Bryce smirked at me. "How do you feel about that, Chase?" He pressed his lips together. I shrugged and place a piece of pancake into my mouth "I feel fine about it. Why wouldn't I bryce?"
"Just checking." He smiled. On that note, I excused myself to go find a outfit to wear for this afternoon. I had to look nice not only to our shine whoever the fuck eve was, but to make Joey drool while he was with her.
I didn't like him or anything, I just for some reason had a malicious intent. I'd spent most of my time getting ready up until the real moment. I even managed to put on makeup.
Joey headed out to pick her up before us so bryce and I took his car to where we were eating at. He and I both walked out into the restaurant. It wasn't like anything I'd ever seen before. It was beautiful, a real fancy place with glass tiles and perfectly polished tables but at the same time it was casual.
"Come on" Bryce called out interrupting me from examining the place. He and I met Joey can his girlfriend In a booty seating. She had blonde are and was really short. Her eyes were green and her outfit got her perfectly.
"I've never seen you dress up so much before." Joey retrained himself from grinning at me. I rolled my eyes and retorted "you might wanna try it for a change"
"Eve this is Chase, Chase this is eve." Joey introduced us. I gave her a smile and she returned it. "I like your name, I've never met a girl with a name like that" my face suddenly scrunched. Was she trying to say I had a "boys" name.
"I never met a chick named after some bitch in the Bible that ate the apple." I shrugged back. Before she could retort, the waitress came and asked us for what drinks we would like.
Each of us responded, and as soon as she left the tension rose again. "Well how are things back at home.." Joey broke the silence. Bryce shrugged "Chase and I were planning to go somewhere fun after this. You can always tag along."
I looked at Bryce and frowned. We weren't going anywhere, he just wants drama. "Eve has something to do with me after this so I don't think he can" Joey responded. Then his girlfriend, who I was failing to understand spoke to me again.
"So Chase, where did you come from?" She asked. "She doesn't respond to well to questions.." Bryce cut in. "I'm from a place where you live on a schedule." I say simply.
"A jail?" She asked with the fakest smile. "That's where I'm gonna go if you keep talking to me." I smiled widely. "Would you look at that the drinks are here!" Jory breathed out as the waitress placed down our drinks and took our orders for food.
"you guys screwed eachother and decided to talk again or something?" I asked taking a sip of my lemonade. "Yikes." Bryce grinned taking a sip of his drink as well.
"Let's talk about something else like...anything else.." Joey dunk in his seat. "Where are you from, Eve?" I asked. "I'm from here in LA, I grew up around Hollywood in an expensive manchine, you?"
"Oh, my turn?" I asked, she returned my question with a nod. "I'm from the poorest part of north side where I watched my dad die and my mom prostitute."
She shook her head "explains a lot." Uncomfortable as it was I turned to Bryce "give me the keys, I'm sure Joey and Barbie can give you a ride home." He gave me a confused look as to why, so I motioned to my wrist where he realized exactly what I was talking about.
"Makes sense" he mumbled to me handing me the keys from his pocket. He let me out of the booth and I left to the bathroom first. Inside of the biggest stall, a woman left her purse of the floor which made it easy for me.
Slowly, I pulled her purse into my side and grabbed her wallet where she had 500 dollars in cash and two debit cards. Feeling generous, I only took 200 and one debit card. With that, I fled into the parking lot and drove to my nearest fix.
For the pain I was feeling, seeing how Joey looked at her and kissed her ever so often I needed something stronger than just lines or smokes. I needed something that I haven't heard yet that would hit me hard. Perks. I knew it was wrong, doing drugs under everyone's noses but I couldn't help it. It made me feel like a rockstar.
