Chapter 41

LEXI'S POV

Matt picked Jake up and put him in the back of his car, I jumped in the passenger seat and we headed back to the house. Right now I'm pacing back and forth which I've been doing for the past four hours it's about three in the morning and he still hasn't stirred. I'm so stupid I really shouldn't have done that.

*FLASHBACK*

Jake's wolf took over and he was beating Todd to death. I kept trying to talk to him but it wouldn't work. I panicked.

"Jakee" I screamed

He turned towards me and I punched him in the face, I couldn't think of anything else at the time.

*FLASHBACK OVER*

I ran my hand through my hair again, I didn't think I had hit him that hard. ugh good job Lexi you were expecting a happy remeeting or something close to it even him yelling at me but not me having to scream and punch him. I walked back over to him to check again he had a black eye but now  it''s healed. I turned around about to go back to my pacing when all the sudden something grab my waist and I was pulled to the bed. I screamed

I opened my eyes which I didn't even know I closed and Jake was hovering over me.

"Jake" I breathed out

"You're okay" I smiled but Jake just growled

"Don't leave again"

I just nodded I was really planning too anyway.

"And don't punch me again either" 

I just smirked and he layed down and pulled me into him. I tried to get out feeling really akward.

"Jake let go you need to get some rest and so do I"

He didn't respond just tightened his grip. I gave up and huffed. I swear I could hear him smirk, oh well atleast he's okay. I ended up falling asleep because he wouldn't let go and it was just to late for me to care. Truthfully I was happy deep  down I felt safe and conforatable, something I hadn't felt in a while. I was a little worried about tomorrow morning though, everyone is probably still a mad at me. 

JAKE'S POV

I woke up last night sometime and grab Lexi and pulled her into bed I wasn't really mad at her for punching me and I wasn't mad at her for leaving I'm just to afraid that she'll leave again she's done it before. I was laying there just running my hands through her hair she's still asleep and I'm in pure bliss. I was on my side and she fitted perfectly right next to me. She has no idea what she means to me or how crushed I was when she left. I kept running my fingers through her hair and spaced out some more not even sure what I was thinking about. I heard her start to wake up.She rolled around so she was on her back and looked at me. She smiled 

"Im gonna get up and take a shower you should do the same."

When she got up she had to crawl over me, her hair brushed my face and her inner thigh accidently slid across my little buddy. I waited until she left to get up, my umm little friend was deffinetly awake now. She drives me crazy.

After a nice shower I wrapped myself in a towel and headed out to grab some clothes. Someone knocked on my door and without thinking I said

"Come in" Lexi walked in a blushed bright red

"Umm everone wants us to..uh head down to......breakfast" She kept trying to look everywhere but me.

"I'll be ready in a moment and meet you by the stairs"

She walked out and I just stood there...........she's adorable.

I grabbed my clothes and headed out to meet Lexi.

We walked down the steps heading towards the kitchen, when we walked in people popped out of no where and screamed

"WELCOME HOME LEXI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She was right in front of me and ended up jumping back into me, ofcourse I jumped back too which caused both us us the fall on our asses well I fell on my ass and she landed on me. I got up and helped her up to standing her on her feet. She was blushing like mad and people ushered her to the table and started piling food on her plate I sat next to her laughing a bit. After everyone sat back down and filled their own plates she spoke up.

"Aren't you guys mad? That I left?"

There was a small akward silence and then a little kid spoke up.

"You came back though....you're back"

Everyone just nodded their head and continued with normal ccoonversation. After breakfast I pulled Lexi aside.

"You wanna get outta here? Go for a run or something?" She smiled and nodded her head.

Withing second me and her were out the door and shifted running through the forest. It started out as simple running and then we started racing and damn was she fast. We both eventually collapsed from exhaustion. We shifted back and starting some small talk. Finally I asked her what I've been dying to ask her.

"Lexi......Why'd you leave?"

She sighed and looked away for a while leaving the question hanging in the air.

"Jake you guys are the first people I've gotten to know and talk to.... You're the first person I've ever cared about this way since my parents died" she quieted down for a while again.

We both looked different ways then I heard her

"Jake" I looked at her and she was still looking away.

"Yea?"

"Jake I think I L......." 

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" We both jumped and looked everywhere around us.

We don't know who screamed but it sounded like a child screaming. We heard the scream again and leaves rustsling me and Lexi ran behind a tree and waited A little girl and boy ran out from the denser part of the forest. They looked like they were being chased out from behind them ran Kegan and his band of 'merry men' They grabbed for the kids but me and Lexi jumped out from the woods and attacked. I can't believe this bastard showed up again seriously does he have a death wish. We backed up and black the kids from them. Lexi shifted back to human form.

"Kegan get the hell out of here before I skin you alive" She growled menacingly.

Kegan steeped forward once more causing me to step forward growling. He stepped back again.

"You guys are going to regret this, we will be back with more people just you wait and see. Lexi....Jake you guys have now made a long list of enemies. Watch your back" Him and his group left.

Lexi turned to the kids and started talking to them and then turned to me. 

"Jake we need to get back to the house now" I nodded and we headed back.

Once back I told everyone what happened and we introduce the kids to the other children of the pack hoping they will all get along. They clung to Lexi and didn't want to let go until the kids finally got them to play with them. Lexi grabbed my hand and dragged me upstairs, she pulled me into her room and closed the door. 

"Jake we've got a problem, a huge problem" She was pacing

"Lexi what's the problem?"

"They're fairy children Jake, fairies."

I was shocked, fairies went into hiding over a century ago how could Kegan have found any, ecspecially children. Something is wrong I just know it.
