Chapter 16

LEXI'S POV

Jake and Matt finally showed up laughing about something they were talking about. Carla and Jasmine grabbed Matt and jumped him. Jake came over near me.

"Why don't we get in?'

I looked at him a shook my head I didn't really want to right now

"well sorry but your gettting in"

He grabbed me and pulled me up throwing my on his back and jumped in, I started swimming towards the edge, but Mark grabbed me and passed me off to Jake, I had my arms crossed and Carla came over laughing.

"You're like a little kids whose parents don't want her to do something and now you're pouting about it."

I started laughing with her and splashed her with water, she ofcourse splashed me back. It went of for a while until Jasmine joined in. We were trying to drown eachother when I heard Jake from behind me.

"Whats that?"

He asked walking towards me, I frooze what is he talking about? He walked up behind me and touched my mark. Oh crap,

"Princess that's an alpha mark"

I just turned around and nodded.

"Those Marks go away when and alpha goes rogue Princcess.......what happened to your pack?"

I just looked at him and he looked confused I just sighed and got out, I didn't want to be a bummer but I needed some time alone. I walked inside and went to one of the spare rooms since mine was still drying a bit. (Just as a heads up when I said water ballons I meant the realy tiny ones that are like the size of a fifty cent piece and even though they were covered in paint the walls just had like splatters so the colors didn't really mix into eachother) I grabbed clothes on my way there and changed into them. I just sat up there for a while it didn't feel like that long but it was getting dark. I wasn't really thinking about anything just kind of sitting there. I was trying my best not to think because I knew if I did it would be about my former pack. Even though I tried my best the images were flashing through my head. I saw buildings burning people running in both wolf and human forms I say the dad lying everywhere. I saw the images of my dead parents, people burning alive all these things I kept buried on the back of my mind. I hoped I would just eventually forget these pictures but I haven't yet apparently not yet. I knew I was weak I am weak if I act like this every time I'm asked about my pack I'm useless. I tried getting up so i could go down there and join them again but I just couldn't my legs wouldn't let me. I was sitting on the bed in the guest room with my back to the wall, I couldn't get the images out of my head they were taunting me I swear they were. The image of my parents would flash more than the rest same as the image of my baby cousin who was burned alive laying on the ground, ugg Lexi you may not cry what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. Jake came into the room.

JAKE'S POV

She's already and alpha? But shes a rogue thats impossible, she cant be a rogue and stilll have that mark.

"Guys?"

I asked Matt and the twins who were just about to leave.

"How is that possible, you can't be both can you?"

"Jake" Mark said

"If an alpha's pack is killed they are considered a rogue but their mark still doesn't go away"

Mark and the twins looked like they were almost in tears. OH GOD PRINCESS

I ran up the stairs. I can imagine what it would be like to lose your pack ecspecially as an alpha or a would be alpha. I walked into her room but she wasn't there she must be in their spare bedroom. I opened the door and she was sitting on the bed in the dark holding her knees. She looked so fragile, I walked over to her and hugged her. We sat like that for a while in total silence until I broke it.

"Princess, what happened?"

She just looked at me and shook her head. I know I shouldn't have but I asked again I had to know, it was killing me to know that my precious mate was suffering and there was nothing I could do.

"Princess, please tell me....what happened?"

She looked at me for a long time niether of us looked away. Then she answered

"My pack was killed when I was a child"

"What happened?"

"Hunters they came into my pack and slaughtered everyone."

"Please tell me the story"

I wanted to know so badly.

LEXI'S POV

"Please tell me the story"

I shuddered and told him the story.

*FLASHBACK*

I was in the woods playing near the stream with my friends and cousins even though we knew we should head back because it was getting dark we wanted to keep playing. Me and my cousin Mark were playing tag when we heard screaming we looked at eachother and ran towards the pack. When we got there it was in chaos houses were on fire, people were screaming, people were even on fire. I bolted having to find my parents I was so scared my knees were shaking. As I was running through I saw men with guns ,men with silver knifes killing anyone they could get their hands on it was a massacre. The men were hunters, they were different though yea they killed werewolves but they themselves were werewolves. After fifteen minutes of running my knees buckled and I fell to the ground crying I couldn't find them anywhere. I heard my mothers scream and blindly ran towards the sound. When I came into the clearing I saw my father laying dead some ways away, I looked towards my mother and there was a man standing above her. She was screaming but looked over and saw me.

"Run Lexi Run don't even look back just run!"

Then the man silenced her but slicing her throat. Slowly the man made his way towards me his eyes gleaming with malice. I took off after that and shifted for the first time.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

" Ever since then they've been chasing me, during the summer I could eadily be chased three days straight non stop they were ruthless. Once when I was about ten they threw a knife at my and it stuck in my leg I had to keep running until I was far ahead of them. It's been like that since I came here."

I looked up a Jake feeling much better I felt like sharing it lifted a weight off my shoulders, but him he look at me and a tear fell from his eye he leaned down and hugged me.

"I'm so sorry Princess Im so so sorry"

I sighed and got up offering him my hand.

"I'm fine and my names Lexi, just for future reference"

He looked at me and smiled like he had just won a million bucks.

"So Lexi whats for din din"

I laughed at the ridiculous name he had used for dinner. We walked down the steps and raided the fridge for food. We settled on pizza rolls pop and popcorn (I know oh so healthy right well werewolves have to eat way more calories since they burn so many off). We ate our oh so healthy food and watched spongebob till we fell asleep. This time we fell asleep on the floor because the couch was still drying from this mornings alarm for Jake. At about two in the morning i felt Jake move He had still been laying opposite of me like we layed on the couch. After a couple seconds I felt and arm go around my waist and someone lay down behind me I was too tired to care and i didn' even really realized what had happened considering I was half unconsious. Before I went back to being completly uncounsious I heard a whisper behind me, but didn't really realize what it meant.

"I love you."

I know I just did a recap of the first chapter but I felt like it was needed and at this point I feel like its getting kind of cheesy so I may switch it up a bit but other than that THANKS FOR READING and if you have any tips or advice please feel free to let me know :D
