I was standing right outside the doors to my high school. This is it. This is the last first day. I looked at my best friend Billie. She was smiling.
"This is it." she breathed out excitedly.
"I know. We made it." I grabbed on to her hand and we ran inside the large brick building.
We always kind of liked school. We got good grades, no one hated us, and when it came down to it, billie and I learned to appreciate the structure.
Well actually this was for the most part, I mean there were sometimes where we would get in trouble for ditching or not doing home work but all in all school was good. It was regular actually.
I took the paper out of my pocket. "Wheres your locker?" I asked Billie as we got into the school, she peered over my shoulder and down at my paper.
"Down the hall from yours." She stopped, making me stop with her as if we were two cars and she were brake checking me.
"What is it?" I asked. Her face went blank.
"Jen, your locker is right outside the bathroom, next to the computer lab."
I shrugged.
"Dont worry, I've never had a problem with anyone except this one girl in health sophomore year. I should be fine. Plus my locker is across from theirs. They won't even notice me." I said.
It was true. I don't have problems with anyone in the school. I don't really talk to anyone so nobody really talks to me.
I walked down into my first class, which is pre calc. I said bye to Billie and walked in, no problem. I was the first one here so I picked a random seat next to the window waiting for the class to fill up.
I recognized a few people. There was Oliver, and Kellin which everyone knew because of their reputations. Notorious anger issues, fights, selling drugs, threatening authority, you name it and I bet you Kellin and Oliver did it.
Though Kellin rarely hit people he was still intimidating. After that one fight, nobody ever tried to fight him again. He took some kids eye out of its socket with one punch so it was a warranted fear.
I also noticed Tay. I guess I considered her as a friend. We were partners in science the previous year so we spent a lot of time at each others houses. Tay sat down next to me and we talked about how summer was, while we filled out a math worksheet that our teacher gave us.
Finally the bell rang and we all scurried out of the class room. Our teacher didn't assign us any homework other than study the syllabus because it was our first day and as you can imagine we didn't learn much.
Next I have gym.
When I got down to the gym I saw a few other girls and our coach. We all waited for everyone to get here and then we started running around the soccer field.
I personally hate running.
And sports.
And almost everything to do with gym.
Usually I ditch this class but I cant just not be here on the first day. By the time we finished our laps it was almost time to go since we wasted twenty minutes waiting for girls to change before they could show up.
Our coach divided us in to two teams, and told us to play a quick game of soccer before we left. I was the goalie.
I was always the goalie.
