Dragonball Z- Sibella- The Last Saiyan Girl

Chapter 23- Goku arrives...too late?

Goku was calm as he stood with his friends.

"Its ok guys, it's really me, I'm so glad to see- oh well not all of you in good health I suppose- Sibella are you alright?"
"I've seen better days Kakarott" she gasped and smiled.
"She saved me again daddy"
"A habit I think I need to break" she joked.
"Thank you Sibella, I owe you big time" Goku graciously commented.

He patted his sons head and smiled.

"We missed you dad"
"What do you think of our new duds?"
"Not bad, but I don't think Master Roshi or Chichi would approve" Goku responded and ruffled Gohans' hair.
"I'm proud of you guys, especially of you Gohan, leave the rest to me, it's my turn"
"Goku did you get hit in the head or something, it's gonna take everything we've got to beat him" Piccolo exclaimed
"I'm fine" Goku boated and walked towards Frieza.
"Take care of the bully!" Krillin encouraged.

They stood not far from each other.

"You must be Frieza the one responsible for the horrible chain of event that's happened on this planet."
"The proof is in the pudding don't you think" Frieza calmly responded.

Goku then glanced down at Vegeta then Sibella.

"What ever issues you had with them, you can take it up with me now" Goku claimed, confidently.

Vegeta then began twitching as he looked at Goku.

"Hey Kakarott, looked like you made it" Vegeta uttered.
" 'Kakarott', but that's a Saiyan name isn't it?" Frieza asked.

Frieza then appeared to go into deep thought as he maintained his sight on Goku, as though he seemed familiar to him.

"Ah yes, you are a Saiyan, I was in a skirmish with a Saiyan who looks just like you, you're his offspring, the resemblance between you is unmistakeable" Frieza explained.
"I don't care" Goku bluntly responded.

Something was different about Goku, everything about him was cool, calm and collected- nothing like how he was in his last fight, what could have changed in him?

Frieza then attempted to attack him only to miss and have Goku punch him away from his friends.

"Amazing, I couldn't follow any of it!" Krillin exclaimed.

Frieza actually had a bruise on his face- he then pointed his finger at Goku and smiled.

"You fool die" Frieza calmly said.

Only to have the attack backhanded away with little effort.

"A...amazing" Sibella gasped.

Frieza then continued firing attacks all of which Goku was able to block, but it caused damage to the rest of the planet, exploding the rock formations all around them.
When the smoke cleared Frieza was shocked to have seen Goku blocked it with a single hand and no one was harmed.

"Who would have thought, a lowly soldier like you Kakarott, I commend you" Vegeta struggled to say.

Goku glanced down at him.

"Frieza you fool, you don't get it do you, Kakarott is not a normal Saiyan" Vegeta continued and struggled to hold himself up on his forearms.

"Kakarott is a Super Saiyan!" He claimed.

Frieza's eyes widened

"That's right you heard me, if there is a God, he must be good for letting me live long enough to see this day" Vegeta laughed.
"How great, this is a dream come true, to see you beaten by a Saiyan"

In that split second Frieza lost his temper and fired death beam at Vegeta knocking him to the ground once more.

"Vegeta NO!" Sibella screamed at the top of her lungs
"Enough loud mouth, on and on like a broken record" Frieza spat.
"What's your problem he wasn't a threat to you anymore, he couldn't even defend himself, no honour in that" Goku exclaimed
"It was the only way I could get him to shut up, going on about that ridiculous legend, there's no such thing as a Super Saiyan!"

Vegeta was just about still breathing and he gripped at the earth below him.

"Kakarott, there is no stinking honour in this, it's just a game, play to win, there are no rules. You're going to have to get over your softheartedness and forget your feeling, they'll get you killed, they'll get you killed Kakarott!" Vegeta begged.

"I can't, I can't change who I am. Not on the battlefield my feelings are my guide. Beside everyone deserved a chance to change, just like you had" Goku responded.
"Fool, you don't know what you're dealing with!" Vegeta coughed, spewing out blood.
"save your strength Vegeta" Goku advised.
But the Prince refused to stay quiet, not yet.
"No there's more, he killed our home planet, it was him! Your father and mine the whole planet he blew it up, it's true but no one survived by us. Ask him, he'll tell you, he's proud of it! Sibella, y...you know this, if you are a Saiyan as you say, you saw what happened"
"Enough Vegeta, it's sapping your strength" Goku urged again
"He's right Kakarott, it was a horrifying sight" Sibella wept
"No, you need to hear this" Vegeta begged.

Sibella rolled her head over to look upon Vegeta and in that very moment, she saw what he truly felt.
Tears streamed from her eyes as he continued on.

"We worked so hard for him, we did everything he asked of us and more. He took me from my father when I was just a little boy, he made me do whatever he wanted and said he would kill my father if I didn't. I did everything he asked but he killed him anyway along with everyone else. He was scared of us, scared a super Saiyan would rise up and destroy him" he cried, pouring all of his lifeforce into his words.

Everyone was touched by the once ruthless warrior, baring his soul before them.

"Please, no more save your strength"
"Kakarott, please, destroy Frieza, he made me what I am, don't let him do it to anyone else. Whatever it takes, stop him please!" Vegeta begged once more with his last breath.

His outreached hand fell and his breathing stopped.

"Vegeta..." Goku whispered.
"It's about time, Saiyans linger like a bad odour"

"Goodbye Vegeta, you're not as cold hearted as you claimed to be, a heart of stone can't shed tears like you did. You must have been holding them back your whole life" Goku commented as he looked down at Vegeta.

The tears on his face dried, and Goku created a grave and buried Vegeta graciously.

"I respect you Vegeta, I know you made a lot of mistakes, but now I see that it wasn't all your fault. You had the fiery will of a Saiyan, please share that with me now, because I need it. Thank you for saving my friends lives and buying me enough time to re-cooperate. I 'll do my best to carry out your wish! It's true Vegeta's right you have no honour, for him and for everyone else you've destroyed I am going to finish you!"

"We'll see about that won't we?" Frieza smugly said.

There was a moment of silence as Frieza looked at Sibella.
"I do hate shoddy work. So I'll just-"Frieza stopped mid-sentence to blast Sibella as she lay there already dying.
"AH!" she screamed an closed her eyes shut, forcing more tears out.
"Sibella!" Goku cried out.
"It's ok Kakarott, so as Vegeta asked, kill that bastard" she gasped, and her eyes fluttered shut for the last time.

"Sibella...?" Gohan cried over her body and lifted her head.
Goku faced Frieza and narrowed his eyes.
"You'll pay for that!" Goku threatened.

He then scooped Sibella into his arms and brushed her hair out her face before laying her in the same grave as Vegeta.

"You didn't even know us before today, but you did your best to help us, thank you" Goku said and buried her too.
