Chapter 38- Cell?

"Hey Trunks!" Gohan called out.
"Yeah?"
"Do you have any idea what kind of a creature that may have been back there?" Gohan asked.
"No idea, but it was the ugliest thing I've ever seen" Trunks responded.
"Me too, it made me sick to my stomach- blah- you said it may have got her 4 years ago right...I just find it hard to believe something like that can be here for 4 years without anyone noticing it- isn't that weird?" Gohan expressed.
"My concern is who sent it here and for what reason" Sibella interrupted.

The three Saiyans then picked up the pace in hopes of getting to Kame house a little faster.
Not long after landing did, they swiftly make their way inside, Gohan went in first and saw everyone was deadly silent.

"Guys, come over here and see what's on the news" Krillin urged.
"Whaddya mean?" Gohan asked, confused.

The three came in and stood beside the TV...what they saw, shocked them.
The report was coming from Ginger Town- not far from where they found the Time machine, and there appeared to be some sort of attack going on, the majority of the population had apparently disappeared, and right before their eyes, the transmission turned to static right after the shrilling terrified scream of the TV reporter and crew.

"What the hell...?" Sibella trailed off.

Everyone was confused and scared no one knew what had happened, Trunks began to explain what he believed to be their theory...that creature from the capsule may have caused this.
"I have to go to Ginger town" Trunks said and made his way to the door.
"I'll go with you" Gohan announced.
"I'm going solo, stay here and look after your dad Gohan" Trunks advised.
"Solo my butt, I'm going with you" Sibella interrupted and made her way to the door also.
"Wait, maybe you should stay too" Krillin advised.
"No, I don't think so, whatever is out there looks like it's taken the life of an entire city, I'm going to be more help anyway" she objected and took to the sky.

Trunks looked up and her and sighed.

"She's so hard headed" he groaned.
"You get used to that, typical pure blooded Saiyan behaviour I think" Krillin chuckled.

Trunks smiled but then took off right behind her, in a short time he eventually managed to catch up with her. Suddenly she came to a stop mid-air.

"What the hell...?!" she exclaimed.
"What's wrong?!" Trunks asked.
"Tell me you can feel that...I...I can sense two Piccolo's, Frieza, King Cold, Vegeta and- Kakarott- all in Ginger town. That's impossible- you killed him, I saw it!" she screamed in confusion.
"I don't know what's going on, but this isn't good" Trunks added.
"We better get there fast!" Sibella urged.

They continued on their way, but as they did so they were surprised to see that Krillin had caught up with them.

"Oh there you both are, we've been sensing so much weirdness- we thought you might need some help" Krillin explained.
"Thanks, Krillin, I was thinking the same thing" Trunks agreed.
"I don't- but what is this massive power- its partially familiar" Sibella asked.
"It's Piccolo! He fused with Kami!" Krillin explained with great enthusiasm.
"Well that is some impressive power- I look forward to seeing this" Sibella commented.

"Hey trunks, any ideas on what this thing is?" Krillin asked.
"No idea, but I think they are one at the same that what we found and what Piccolo is fighting are the same thing" Trunks responded.
"Looks like we have a fun battle ahead of us" Sibella smirked.
"Sibella, how can you take this so lightly?!" Trunks demanded.

Sibella turned her head towards Trunks and narrowed her eyes.

"Act like a wimp and you will die like one, never go into battle fearful" she responded.

By now the three of them had arrived in Ginger town, and part of it was already in ruins.
From where they were hovering, they were able to see Piccolo, standing before a hideous, bug like creature with a pointed needle-like tail.

"Look at it, it must have been the creature that came from my capsule" Trunks commented.

The warriors landed behind Piccolo and they stared at the hideous creature.

"He's freakin me out- is he the one responsible for killing everyone in Ginger town?" Krillin asked.
"Yeah, be careful and steer clear of his tail, right after we destroy this thing, I'll explain everything" Piccolo warned them.
"So, you think you can defeat me, don't flatter yourself" the creature boasted.
"Don't worry guys, with the there of us here he won't stand a chance, and he knows it"- besides if that Kamehameha is the best you can do then you're finished" Piccolo added.

The creature then revealed that not only did he know that attack, he also knew the Spirit Bomb technique. And that he also knew Krillin's name, Trunks and Sibella.

"You see, I have a date with a couple of friends- I'd hate to be late in meeting" he said and flew up to the sky.
Once in view of the sun he performance a Solar Flare attack that blinded the whole area in a bright white light. Sibella covered her eyes but upon opening them the creature had gone, nowhere to be found.

"What the hell, where did he go?!" Sibella screamed.
"That was Tien's Solar flare technique wasn't it?!" Piccolo demanded- of which Krillin confirmed.

Everyone took to the sky but couldn't see him anywhere, Piccolo urged that they find him fast before more people are killed by him.

"Vegeta!" Krillin called out.

Everyone looked up to see it was indeed Vegeta and coming from the East was Tien.

"Who are you, there's no way the real Piccolo would have such an incredible fighting power!" Vegeta demanded.

Trunks then explained that he had merged with Kami, and that his power had increased tenfold.
Just then Tien had also landed.

"What you're about to hear will determine if we live or die" Piccolo began.

He then went on to explain that the monster was a creature created by Dr Gero, an Android called Cell. He gains his power by absorbing the life of living creatures. He had come from a different timeline and had absorbed the cells from all the great fighters which explained why they were able to sense so many of them earlier. Cell would continue absorbing people until he is completed, so essentially the whole planet was being held captive.
And they were on a time limit to find the monster before he could kill anymore innocent people.
