chapter 19- Missing you

kenzie's p.o.v

"I'll pick you up at seven babe."
Jacob said, giving me a sweet peck on my cheek.

I gave him a small smile and then turned to get out of his car.

He drove off as I walked up to the front door, grabbing the keys from under the mat.
Maddie wasn't home and my mom was out with her friends so I got some time alone at home.

The fact that I now have a boyfriend makes my mom insanely happy. I don't even know why. She keeps wanting to call Jacob over for dinner. Maddie on the other hand, doesn't seem pleased at all. She thinks it's a waste of time since I'll end up with johnny anyways.

That only agitates me because I keep remembering the reason I stopped talking to him.
Maddie knows too and she thinks I'm overreacting. She doesn't understand how I feel though.
Having to be his second option always. Being disrespected like that by him.

Anyway his relationship with Nadia had made our friendship take a backseat. His reaction to Jacob and me was just salt in the wound.

I pushed the door open with a little more force than I intended and walked into the house.
I ran up to my room, chucking my bag in the corner as I picked up my laptop, setting it down on my lap.

Just because of all the drama I had going on, I hadn't stopped my YouTube channel, in fact I had posted even more covers this week and I was actually proud of myself.
The most recent one I did was "teardrops on my guitar" by Taylor swift.

I scrolled through the comment section that as usual would bring a smile to my face.
Suddenly my eyes glued to one comment and my heart skipped an unintentional beat,

johnnyorlando- I love this❤️

I cleared my throat and continued reading the rest, but I could only think of his comment.
I groaned, pushing my laptop away and lying down with a huff.

Why does he have to be so cute and supportive.
And good looking?!
God, everything would be so much easier if he wasn't so good looking. I'd just be a best friend who loved his personality and was not attracted to him whatsoever.

1. I wouldn't have ever fallen for him.

2. I wouldn't get jealous if I saw him with Nadia (cause of no. 1^)

3. I wouldn't have lost him as a best friend.

4. I wouldn't be missing him like crazy right now.

But of course he had to be handsome. The handsomest of all the handsome boys.

It's as if he knew I was thinking about him because at that exact minute I got a text from him.

I already knew he had been sending me a billion this past week but for some reason I let my guard down just this once and took a small peek at it,

Johnny boy- Going to Magic fountain isn't  the same without you🥺

My heart fluttered at that message.
but I switched my phone off ignoring it. He didn't deserve a response.

I grabbed my laptop, selecting a random show on Netflix and began watching.

When it was time for me to get ready for Hayden's I raided my closet till I found the perfect outfit. A red spaghetti top with my blue jeans. I put on some light makeup and then sent Ruby a picture to see whether she'd approve.

Just then, I got a notification on my phone from Lauren and I opened it,

Lauren- do u have a ride to Hayden's?
Lauren- Johnny's going but there's no way I'm going to be stuck in a car with him and Nadia

Mackenzie❤️- Jake is picking me up and I'm sure he won't mind giving you a ride :)

Lauren- okiee so can I come over rn?

Mackenzie- come
