"Okay admit it Kenz! Today was really fun." Ruby said, taking a sip of her caramel frappe.

"Yeah it honestly was." I giggled.

The girls and I went to forever 21 and tried on a bunch of clothes and took pictures. Luckily Asher was working there today and he sneakily gave us some outfits for free—which I'm pretty sure is not allowed, but oh well.

After that we went to Starbucks and got drinks. We chatted about everything under the sun besides Nadia and Johnny.

Walking down the streets, sipping on my pink drink and gripping on to Lauren's arm, I felt on top of the world. And I wasn't going to let Johnny and Nadia bring me down.

"Guys lets all go back to mine and get ready for the football game. It starts in an hour." Ruby said, checking her phone.

"We're still going for that?" I muttered sheepishly.
They all give me a look.

"Okay okay fine! I mean I do wanna go there to support Hayden and Carson and..." my voice trailed off.

"Johnny?" Annie questioned,
raising her eyebrows.

"You obviously want to cheer him on. You care so much about him." Ruby said impatiently.

I shook my head and frowned.
I opened my mouth to say that I'd always care about him because memories like that don't ever go away, but instead I said," I was talking about Jacob."

"Since when are you two so close?" Ruby questioned and Brynn answered," he heard about what happened. I think Nadia spread it to the entire school, and he's been comforting Kenzie via text."

"Funny he should do that when he was the one who cheated on you." Annie commented and I flinched.

I stopped to glare at all of them.
"You guys really need to stop pointing out faults in everyone. At least Jacob didn't do something half as bad as what Johnny did. Yeah it sucks that he cheated on me but at least he's being being a good friend. He's there for me when I need him. I can't say the same for Johnny."

Lauren patted my back gently,"We didn't mean it that way kenz. "

I shut my eyes, taking a deep breath.
"Let's just go."

The girls must have felt really guilty because for the rest of the walk there, they changed the topic quickly and I was grateful.
I felt a little bad for lashing out on them.

At the end of the day Jacob didn't meant that much to me but Johnny...
he was my best friend.
my favorite person even if I didn't want to admit it.

For the match I borrowed one of Ruby's blue tie and dye crop tops and paired it with my black leggings. I tied my hair into a high ponytail and put on some lipgloss.
I felt confident enough to face Nadia and all the girls
who had been talking about me and laughing at me.

They had been discreet enough to not do it in front of Johnny, wary of his protectiveness when it came to me. But with the way things are going, I'm sure somebody could chuck a milkshake on me, and Johnny would just watch silently without a word.

I sat on Ruby's bed waiting for the rest of the girls to finish getting ready. My stomach growled and I realised all this drama had drastically increased my appetite.

"Roobs I'm going to the kitchen to get myself a pop tart." I said, getting up and she nodded vaguely.

I walked down the steps of her huge mansion and wandered around, trying to find the kitchen.

I suddenly bumped into my least favorite person at the moment, other than Johnny.

It was Nadia, fake nails, full cakey makeup and all, and I noticed with a small pinch of hurt in my heart, that she was wearing Johnny's old jersey. The one he used to give to me.

On seeing me, her mouth twisted up into a cocky smirk and she put her arm across her waist, looking me up and down.

"Well look who it is." Her voice making me wanting to pull all my hair out .

"Hi Nadia." I said in a bored voice.
I was not going to let myself be intimidated by her.

"Was it so hard for you to process that Johnny chose me over you that you had to come over to my house and talk things out with me?" She sniggered, making me roll my eyes.

"Actually my best friend Ruby happens to live in this house. You know her? The genuine, sweet and friendly Turner? The complete opposite of you." I said giving her a pleasant smile and her features sharpened with annoyance.

She took a step closer to me, her heels clacking as she came to a stop infront of me.

"Look Ziegler. I'm very aware of what you've been up to. I'm so lucky to have a boyfriend who's honest to me about everything and your intentions are shameful. How dare you tell my boyfriend you have feelings for him!" She said, her voice going into a high pitched squeak.

I can't believe Johnny told her everything I told him. This was beyond humiliating.
I was used to being disappointed by Johnny so I retorted, keeping my voice thick with sarcasm,"I had better things to do then sabotage my best friends relationship. I liked him long before you knew him and it really sucks that things didn't work out, but it doesn't make a difference to me anymore. He probably might have missed out the point, but I'm the one who backed away." I snarled.

She rolled her eyes.
"I guess that just shows you right from the start what you meant to Johnny. An average best friend is nothing compared to a popular beautiful girlfriend. Johnny's a real smart boy." Nadia shrugged, checking out her nails.

"If he was, he wouldn't be with you." I mumbled.

Her eyes flashed," Get out of my way you tramp. I have a game to go for."

She pushed me out of her way and walked straight out the door.

I cursed, fixing my shirt.
I don't know how I've resisted myself from slapping that perfectly moisturised face but one day I might just snap.

hahaha imagine Nadia and kenzie having a cat fight infront of the whole school during the game...😳
